Itinerary

Begin with pickup at your accommodations in Amman, then travel to Jabal al Hussein to explore the Citadel: you'll have picture-perfect views of old Amman from the ruins of Rabbath-Ammon, which has been occupied since the Bronze Age.

Continue to the markets of Al-Bukaria Souk, where you’ll have free time to browse souvenirs, traditional clothing, and handicrafts in the historic market. After leaving the market, pass King Abdullah Mosque and the Coptic Orthodox Church, then drive through Jabal Al Webdeih and Rainbow Street, near the residence of King Talal. Take in some of the most elegant villas in the city, and continue to Madaba, 19 miles (30 km.) south of Amman.

Tour St. George Orthodox Church to see the oldest known map of Palestine, a 6th-century mosaic that was uncovered during construction of the church in the 19th century. Make the final stop of the day at Mt. Nebo, the legendary site where Moses first saw the Promised Land, and look out across the Jordan Valley to the Dead Sea. Explore the remains of a Byzantine church with well-preserved mosaics, then make the return trip to Amman, where this tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.
