Shakeer was the best guide to shopping in Jaipur! I am traveling alone and felt totally safe with him and in the shops he took me to.
The day prior, my sightseeing tour guide took me to a couple of shops where I felt pressured to purchase and after meeting Shakeer, I realized I paid more than double what I should have. He even took me to return two of the items. At every location, he checked in with me to make sure I was getting the help I needed, then negotiated on my behalf to not only get me the best price, but often to get a free gift thrown in.
It’s clear he’s spent time cultivating relationships with the shop owners we met and his tour patrons are able to reap the benefits of that! Will definitely use him again next time I’m in Jaipur.

Shakir is an incredible guide. He showed me some unique places to shop with high quality items that you can’t find in the regular markets. I even got special pricing and free gifts because I was with him. The best part was that each place we went (block printing, jewelry, blue pottery) gave a demonstration of how they create it in house. He even helped me get a gem stone reading and took me to four stores I found on my own. Thank you so much for a wonderful day!

Shakir was really good and took us for shopping at the right stores where the jewelry is authentic, certified and wonderful collection of options from where we could choose- all the while it was reasonably priced and designs were good. The jewelry store delivered our selected jewels after fixing to the restaurant where we had late lunch so that we are delayed to catch our flight. Shakir also took us to Akee international for Pashmina sweaters and table runners. The selection were exceptional and reasonably priced and the owner also gave couple of gifts! Which is well appreciated!
Overall Shakir gets five star for our shopping trip and helping us to have smooth shopping experience

If you want a fully guided shopping tour in Jaipur, this is the tour to book! Shakir was incredibly knowledgable about what Jaipur is known for and only brings you to the best quality shops. He first wants to learn about your shopping goals for the day and then curates a bespoke itinerary for you so that you get the most out of your day. This tour gives you a stress free shopping experience. He took us to a jewelry store where the family has made gemstone jewelry for generations, a store where everything is made in Kashmir, and a textile shop where they hand print their fabrics with natural dyes. You can find a lot of these items on the street or in markets, but these specific shops had natural ingredients, good quality items, and each shop treated us like family. This is not a tipical boring shopping tour. This is a personal shopping 5 star expirience. The guide is polite and allways ready to listen to your desires. He knows the best places for quality and price. And he has some secrets that other guides dont. He never does hard sales and you feel free to buy or not. There is no presure. Go and just enjoy your shopping spree.

This tour is a gem in Jaipur and I enjoyed it very much! Shakeer was nice and fun but efficient and professional to make sure I felt comfortable and got the best value out of the experience during the tour. The shops he took me to had a great deal of knowledge and pride in their products and worked with the community, contributing to the local economy. The tour was very well organized but could be customized according to needs of the clients. I was able to shop with a peace of mind because Shakeer gave me a space and time that I needed to find something of my tastes and try them on while he worked behind the scenes to make sure I got the best price and quality. Absolutely 10 out of 10 and recommended to anyone who is looking for exquisite shopping experience with a serenity of mind in Jaipur! This tour is great!!! Highly recommend! I had so much fun. The guides energy was easy to connect with and thus helped figure out what to shop for. And which shops to go to. He had an itinerary but was flexible and amenable to any of my planned stops. He helped negotiate down one of the costs. All the merchants he chose were not pushy and had high quality items. Shakeer was a very personable and fun guide during our time in Jaipur. He had an eccentric sense of humor and made us feel like we were traveling with a friend. We appreciated that he took the extra time to visit our hotel in advance of our tour pick up since it was brand new and wanted to make sure he gave us a smooth experience. He also pulled off a last minute food tour for us and helped us put down a deposit on a restaurant we wanted to go to when it wasn’t working on our phones. While our fitting for some of our outfits ran long, he stayed with us to make sure we got what we needed even though it made him delayed for an appointment. If we’re ever in Jaipur again we’ll be sure to connect with Shakeer.
For the shopping tour specifically, anticipate set shopping destinations that offer a demonstration and shopping opportunity. On our tour it did not appear we visited places where locals shop. The demonstrations were informative and interesting and the shop owners were all very nice and inviting. We were offered tea and water in every shop and at some shops Shakeer got us food because he knew we hadn’t eaten in a while. We also got trinkets from most of the stores at the end.
While I highly recommend Shakeer, if I could go back I would not have used this tour to purchase clothes, shoes, and accessories for a three day Indian wedding. The garment shops we went to did not have sample examples of lenghas or sarees and all of our outfits lacked any embellishments despite the example photos we provided for the making of our custom items having embellishments (example picture of one of the items I asked for vs. what I got included). We were only shown more expensive Indian accessories made of real gems so I could only afford one set instead of the three I was hoping to purchase. And at the shoe store we went to I was only given about four options due to my foot size (us 9.5) and none were particularly festive for a wedding. All in all I paid at least double what I anticipated on outfits and they weren’t really as I wanted. We also needed to go back to the stores the next day for fittings which limited the sightseeing we were able to do and honestly some of the garments still didn’t fit that well despite the second fitting (side photo of saree with ill fitting/uncomfortable top included). I still recommend the tour but would have personally went to different shops entirely for Indian wedding clothes (perhaps these really were the best shops in Jaipur - I’m not an expert - but if that’s the case I think we should have shopped for wedding clothes in Delhi).

We had an absolutely fantastic private shopping tour in Jaipur. Shakeer took us to the most fabulous places for cashmere pashminas, gems, blue pottery, marble, block printing. Nothing was too much trouble and the pricing was fantastic. I’m a very fussy shopper and I was seriously impressed. So, if you would like to find the hidden treasures of Jaipur’s fantastic shops, book Shakeer. You will have the best few hours of your stay in Jaipur.

If we could give him 10 stars we would! We’ve had the distinct honor of booking the private shopping tour with Shakeer last November AND this November. Shakeer is an expert with many, many
many (!) contacts. If you. need to find something, he will most certainly find or do everything within his power to locate and source articles to make you happy. Be it textiles, rugs, jewelry and gems, clothing and the loveliest business (!) for shawls of ALL price ranges and materials. Even the general tourist markets for trinkets and gifts.
On the alternative side while Shakeer specializes in Jaipur, his colleague travels all over India to facilitate your desired locations and visits. We spent 17 days last year touring with him and about the same this year.
We would not consider using anybody else in India for our touring purposes. They have become like family members to these two traveling 65 year old nomads.

11/10 experience! As a solo female traveller I wanted a safe and comfortable shopping experience in Jaipur. After reading reviews I felt confident with booking this tour. Shakeer contacted me ahead of my tour to even give me tips on the neighbourhood I was staying at. I had a list of things I was looking for and he was able to take me to shops where they gave really great prices. I was shocked at what I paid! I specifically was looking for some loose gemstones and he showed me two places to get an idea of the price that tourists pay for things. I paid significantly less for bigger stones at the shop he took me to. Very happy with the service on the tour. Shakeer is friendly, kind, and his only goal is your happiness. Looking for an incredible shopping experience in Jaipur? This is your tour! Shakeer listens to your needs/wants and makes it happen. In Jaipur there’s lots of stores selling the same things: carpets, scarfs and jewellery. Shakeer will take you to top notch places where the quality is outstanding and the prices are less expensive. He patiently waits while you take your time. There’s no rush.
I’m a middle-age solo female traveller . I was concerned about safety. Shakeer was always respectful and very personable. He communicated with me prior to the tour. When I met him in person I felt like he has already my friend!
