Sergio picked us up in the early morning and showed us some places with amazing bird life. We also went to the Carara National Park where he found lots of birds, including some rare ones. He also explained the ecosystem of that forest and was able to answer all our questions. He was the best guide we had during our three weeks tour. Very friendly, super knowledgeable, and most importantly high skills to find the birds. We highly recommend Sergio as a bird guide.

Sergio is awesome! We identified 87 species in just a few hours and saw all but 4 of them. He knows some great local places outside of the main parks and helped me identify many of the little brown birds that I would have never ID'd without him. I can't recommend him enough!

Very knowledgeable and helpful guide who knew so much about the local area and where the birds were. Sergio is very friendly with excellent English language skills - and patient with a novice bird watcher! He is also a photographer and knows how to get the best shots. When I couldn’t get the shot w my camera he was happy to utilize his scope w my cell phone

We saw more than 40 birds, including a baby owl with parents, a pair of hawks nest hunting, velvety manikin, toucan, torgon, & a parrot leaving her hole in a tree. Sergio was knowledgeable and easy going. We were pleased that he showed us birds we may not have been able to find around our air byb. He left us with lots of beautiful photos. Wonderful experience!

This was a one-of-a-kind experience. Sergio took us to places where only a local guide would know to see the most beautiful macaws among one many birds during our personal tour. It was so worth it.

46 species logged in this birding tour. Sergio was fantastic at spottin, and identifying different species. We saw all but 1 heron that's in Costa Rica 12 species that were ranked as either infrequent or unreported in the area in the ebird app. It was a great moring. I recommend this tour.

We had a wonderful time on this bird watching tour with Sergio! He was very knowledgeable and clearly knew where to find all the best spots. We even saw toucans up close, which was amazing! The whole experience was calm, pleasant, and perfect for anyone who wants to appreciate nature without rushing. He also helped us get great photos. Highly recommend!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Sergio, he is an expert in his craft. He took us all throughout the jaco and surrounding areas to find all sorts of birds. He had so much knowledge of each species and knew exactly where to find them. Not only did he have a great amount of knowledge of birds but all flora and fauna in the local area. We’re looking forward to coming back and taking another tour with him, we saw so many birds but also other wildlife. This is a tour we will remember for the rest of our lives. Thank you Sergio.

Sergio took us to three locations in a three hour tour - shoreline, a fishing village and a national park (jungle) - and he found beautiful species wherever we went, almost 30 in all. His ability to spot birds, monkeys and even a bat is so impressive. His knowledge of ecology extends beyond bird watching, his English is excellent, and his client focus impeccable. The experience overall was like exploring bird habitat with a good (very knowledgeable) friend. I highly recommend Sergio’s private tours. You have his full attention, you can hear everything that he says and there’s no waiting while everybody in the group gets to see what he is pointing out.

Sergio is an amazing guide. He's extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife in Costa Rica as well as photography as a whole. We were very lucky to see many species of birds, snakes, monkeys, crocodiles, insects, trees, plants etc. I highly recommend this tour if you are staying close to Jacó.

We did multiple tours in Costa Rica and this was by far the best. The trip was well-planned, Sergio was kind and impressively knowledgeable, and we saw amazing birds and animals . Not only did Sergio find incredible wildlife, but he would also scout out the best view and lighting for photography. If I ever come back to Jaco, I would do this again in a heartbeat (and maybe even twice).

If six stars were available, I would rate this experience a six. Sergio is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Unlike other tours which go to only one park, Sergio's tour took us to three different areas, and we saw magnificent birds in each locale. Sergio did not limit our sightings to just birds - he also pointed out other animals and reptiles. If you do only one adventure in Jaco, make it this one!

I have a lot of good things to say about this experience to the point that it's almost overwhelming, honestly. I'll start from the beginning though - Sergio offers hotel pick-up from Jacó and takes you to a lesser known spot where you can see animals that are harder to find/see in Carara itself. That's where we were able to see the macaws. In Carara we saw lizards, bats, spider monkeys, and many many beautiful birds so that was really good too. He helped take pictures with my iPhone 14 through the lens of his scope and they turned out amazing (see attachments). One can only expect so much when taking pictures with that method so I was blown away by the quality of many of the photos. Of course some were more difficult, since the animals were very far away and past leaves, but he did an amazing job despite this. I really have nothing bad to say - this was our favorite thing that we did in Costa Rica. Thank you so much Sergio for an unforgettable experience!

Do not think twice, book this tour. He takes you to 3 different habitats including Carara National Park (admission included). He is great at spotting both birds and wildlife and knows a lot about the plants and trees. He helped us take great pictures through his high end spotting scope with our phones. His knowledge and enthusiasm are infectious! It’s an early start to the day at 6:30 but well worth it.

What a great experience! We went from the beach to the river to the rainforest! Sergio was absolutely incredible. He went above and beyond finding the birds and animals that we really were hoping to see! He even found a toucan! The macaws were beautiful. My husband had always wanted to be able to get a photograph of an owl and on this trip it happened. Sergio knew just where to look. While I loved the birds, the highlight for me was seeing the monkeys. We saw white faced monkeys, spider monkeys, and heard howler monkeys.
In addition to being a very accomplished photographer, Sergio is also very informative on the ecology of the sites. We absolutely gained a better understanding of the area.
We will be back in Costa Rica with our grandchildren next January and will most certainly be reaching out to Sergio to see if he would be able to arrange a tour for us! if you are looking for a top notch experience, this is the one!
