Response from Host, Oct 2023

Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear that you had an amazing tour in Turkey and that you were pleased with the hotels, tour guide, and the overall experience. It's wonderful to know that you enjoyed the rich culture and the warm hospitality of the Turkish people. We appreciate your feedback, and if you ever decide to explore Turkey again or any other destination, please feel free to reach out to us.

Fantastic 8 day tour of Turkey from the Aegean across Anatolia to Cappadocia.

triciaburritt, Oct 2022
This was an excellent tour. The Guide (Ege) and driver (Yilmaz) were fantastic. We saw and enjoyed so much in the 8 days travelling, due to their excellent organisation and careful planning. The guide was very knowledgeable and completely dedicated to the success of the tour. Efficient and experienced. The hotels and meals were great. I would recommend this tour to anyone. 100% satisfaction.

Great Trip

John_E, Oct 2022
An excellently planned trip that took me to some of the most remarkable sights and sites in Turkey. The hotels were good and our guide, Ege, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable - and flexible enough to meet the needs of the tour group while keeping to the overall strict timetable. The only drawback for me were the carpet, leather and pottery visits as I don't like shopping, but others seemed to like them. And the weather was great too.

Great experience

Gurv_B, May 2022
We went of this tour with a guide named Cagman who was excellent. If you enjoy history and learning about the place you’re visiting, he is definitely the guide for you. We travelled in a nice van and had a wonderful driver as well. Cagman took us to many great restaurants and would points us to the local delicacies as they are different in certain regions. One thing to note is that you’re also taken to several local shops, and get cool demonstrations prior to being presented with a sales pitch. Just do your research on how to barter before you go. Fez Travel is a very reputable provider and have a ton of tours they provide that aren’t listed on Viator. Some of the other people we met on our tour had more customized tours than this one we booked, so I would really suggested you take a look at their website and don’t hesitate booking directly.

The trip of a lifetime! If you’ve ever thought of seeing Turkey, I'd move it to the top of you must see list.

Nancy_H, Oct 2021
We have been so impressed with Turkey. From the battlefields of Gallipoli, to the ancient cities of Troy, Pergamum and Ephesus, to Cappadocia and Ankara we’ve seen a broad expanse of the country. The beautiful Aegean coast and the rich farm land have enchanted us. The Turkish people have been warm and welcoming. We’ve never had any concern for our safety. Our tour guide, Khan is a walking history source and we’ve been privileged to spend a week with him. The hotels were lovely and the balloon ride over Cappadocia was a thrill. It was a simply wonderful experience.

Best Decision ever!!

nazouh17907, Oct 2019
Very impressed so far. My trip is not finished yet, but it's the best way to discover Turkey. Hotels are great, food is delicious, guide very knowledgeable and helpful. Bus comfortable. Both guide and driver are making the drive so easy, stops every couple of hours. I recommend the package to anyone who wants to come to Turkey. best decision ever!!

We absolutely love this tour. We recommend additional activities like Turkish show. We did not like hamam very much but it was okay for experience. Our balloon tour was canceled due to weather condition, but definitely it would worth to do it. Our tour guide was Asli. She did extremely good job, she was professional and entertaining. Thank you FEZ TRAVEL! 7 days passed like one day.

MeeLoi_Y, Sep 2017
This is the best way to have a quick look over the most magnificent places in Turkey. The tourist guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the places and the culture. The price is very reasonable too. The only drawback is that there was a lot of time spending on the road. I think this is inevitable if you want to cover so many things in a short time. A Highly recommended sightseeing tour in Turkey.

sayco113, Jul 2017
It was a great tour of popular sites in Turkey by air-conditioned bus at a reasonable price. Long bus rides on a few days but quite comfortable. Optional tours are good but you need to plan for them in your budget since they will add up. Pamukale was a little disappointing only a part of it being open and it was an extremely hot and sunny day. We skipped Ankara due to a possible road block for a demonstration. Our guide Ahmet was fun and knowledgeable.

Charlotte S, Jul 2017
This tour was great value for money. Good length of time. Local driver and guide very friendly. Mini bus was air conditioned. Nice small group of 12. Actual order of sights sometimes varied from the printed itinerary but got to see everything. Hotels were mostly excellent all things considered.

ShizaZulfiqar_T, May 2017
I just returned from this amazing trip which was organized by Fez Travel. I thought that the company would cheap out on the hotels and food, given the unbelievably low rate, but I was pleasantly surprised. All the hotels were 4-5 stars and were very centrally located. We stayed at water front properties at Canakale and Kusadasi with amazing views. The resort at Pammukale had a thermal pool and mud bath, all complimentary. The breakfasts and dinners were literally lavish buffets! Lunch options provided by the tour guides were also extremely affordable and filling 20 TRY max for all-you-can-eat buffet. The tour guides were good, but a little sad about the decline in tourism. Nonetheless, I had a blast. It was the perfect time to go as i didn't experience any crowds, long lines, and the weather was beautiful! It turned out to be one of the most memorable trips ever. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour. The value for money is too good to be true! You can't pull this kind of a tour on your own, that too in this kind of budget. Stop thinking, start booking!

Heather P, Feb 2017
This trip was absolutely incredible. My husband and I had such a nice time seeing Turkey with Funda Akin as our guide. Funda was very knowledgeable and always had an answer for every question she did an awesome job giving us the history of all the sites. The hotels were great, I especially loved staying in Kusadasi and Cappadocia. Kusadasi is on the coast line with lots of cafes and things to do. In Cappadocia we stayed in a cave hotel, it was beautiful. I really enjoyed visiting all the Roman ruin sites and especially loved seeing the calcium travertines in Pamukkale. The breakfasts and dinners were great, i really enjoyed all the food - i am definitely going to miss the big breakfasts with olives, cheese, yogurt, jam, turkish coffee, etc. I highly recommend this tour, it was an experience that I will never forget.

ROBERT L P, Nov 2016
My wife and I are not big fans of organized tours but the 7 day Turkey Classics tour was a fantastic experience that we would highly recommend to other travelers. Our guide, Ahmet, was funny, knowledgeable, and truly cared that we had the best experience possible. The van, the hotels and the food were all top notch. We were in Turkey in late October when the US State Department had issued travel warnings about possible terrorist activity. We felt completely safe and comfortable on this tour.

Dnsmith, Oct 2016
We would definitely recommend this tour with Fez agency. They were well organized, great hotels, lovely personel. Our driver qnd tour guide were fantastic and we had so mucg fun. Turkey's tourism is suffering as a result of airport assault and coup earlier this year which meant fewer tourists at keu sites good for us not for Turkish economy. There is absolutely no reasonto avoid travel to Turkey. We felt very safe.

Good tour that sees a lot of Turkey. Lots of driving so avoid if you don't like long road trips but the bus is comfortable and there are regular stops The guide was a bit hit and miss. Very knowledgable but not very friendly.

This tour exceeded our expectations...

John G, Jun 2016
This tour exceeded our expectations in both content and value for money. A large modern and comfortable bus was provided for our transportation and it was driven safely and gently at all times by our driver Gorkan. Our guide Ergun demonstrated a rare ability to communicate freely in English and, at the same time, convey the passion and pride that he felt for his country as a Turk. His enthusiasm led us into areas we never expected to as he conveyed the history of Turkey to us. It was always appropriate to the location and particularly interesting. We were fortunate to have a small group of travellers who bonded well and communicated freely throughout the seven days. The Australians in particular were quite moved during the visit to the Gallipoli Peninsula. Each of the other sites were fantastic in both historic content and visual impact. The contrast between the ancient history of Troy, the natural beauty of Pamukkale and the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia was truly amazing. The accomodation provided was not five star but each location was different in theme and more than adequate for any traveller's needs. Despite the current spectre of security in Turkey, at no time did we feel unsafe or threatened. Overall, an excellent tour managed by a most capable and entertaining guide. John

This tour was fabulous. My husband and I were a little nervous about touring turkey but the US state department said to go-just avoid the Syrian border. Off we went and were so pleased. Turkey is just an amazing country and this tour gives you a taste of the history from ancient, to byzantine and ottoman. Our tour guide Charmon was 5 star. He knew and explained the history and had a knack to find out of the way places for lunch in this gourmet country. Thank you Gretchen Deresz

I highly recommend this tour. I enjoyed it so much that I can't stop talking about this tour. The local tour agency that handled this wonderful great experience of Turkey. Ergun Akkan our tour leader is a jewel of this trip and for the company. He is an intelligent, loving, caring and knowledgeable and who truly loves his country. Our group are so lucky to have toured with him in explaining the history, the people of Turkey. Of course Gokhan our captain driver of the entire 7 day journey kept us very safe and on time schedule. He is as nice as Ergun. I would encourage everyone to join this tour when in Turkey to truly see the beauty of Turkey not just staying in Istanbul. I will definitely go back cause we were not able to do the hot air balloon ride due to strong wind situation. Keep it up Viator and the local tour operator. I have gained friends in this trip.

Sing Chow L, Apr 2016
Generally speaking, this tour is a good one and the areas covered are rather extensive for a regular tourist. I have 2 suggestions for Viator and the tour company operator. 1. Local tour operator: offer travelers an option to have lunch separate from the group. We almost felt like pressured to have lunch together everyday. 2. Viator says tips are optional. the local tour operator gave us a package which suggests US35 per person. I would like Viator to make this very clear on its web page. No surprises please. One suggestion for tourist participants: IF POSSIBLE, DO NOT ACCEPT THE OFFER FROM COMPANY TO CUT ANKARA and go back to Istanbul sooner. Ankara is a place you want to see and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was Turkey's national hero. His memorial is a MUST SEE.

Fantastic tour covering the highlights of Turkey. Amazingly knowledable guide (Cagman) and OMG the FOOD!!! Included meals were great and varied and our guide took us to great (cheap and varied) places for lunches. Accommodation was generally good. Overall unbeatable value for money.

Helen M F, Oct 2015
The trip exceeded out expectations, our guide was well organised informative and spoke very good english, we say so many interesting sites , and our accommodation was excellent, overall it was very enjoyable and excellent value. Would have no hesitation in recommending this trip.

I had the worst tour guide...

Pui Y, Oct 2015
I had the worst tour guide experience EVER. His name was Cagman. He appeared to be very knowledgeable about the history of Turkey. However, his attitude, tone of voice, and facial expression were absolutely unacceptable. Anytime, if one of us asked him a question, he would unmistakably let you know that you were annoying him.. It got to be a point that we were all pretty quiet during the 7-days trip. Two of the young ladies got a tongue lashing by Cagman because they cancelled their booking for the hot air balloon ride. He yelled at me in the van in front of everyone for not going on the hot air balloon ride stating that it was a bad decision. He also took us to two of his recommended restaurants to taste home style Turkish food. The first one was okay, but the second one absolutely terrible. It is important for a guide to be knowledgeable, but the most important quality is, no doubt, good people skill. Cagman definitely is in the wrong line of work.

Response from Host, Oct 2015

Thank you for your feedback, we have heard back about this review from our tour operator, their response follows: Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience with us. We were surprised to hear your experience with this particular guide as he typically receives excellent reviews and feedback. However, the reality is that your experience was different, and I am sincerely sorry that for you this was the case. While an apology doesn’t alter the outcome of your experience, we do offer it with all sincerity. You can be assured that we take feedback very seriously, and we have systems in place to investigate complaints and counsel staff accordingly. We have used your feedback as part of our performance management processes. We do expect our staff to make our guests aware of any optional activities that are available to round out their trip to Turkey, however guests should never feel pressured to sign up to these. Your experience highlights to us the importance of making sure that all of our guides are sensitive to this, and so this issue will be raised during future staff training. We have also followed up on the issue that you have raised regarding the standard of meals during your tour, and thank you for alerting us to this. Thank you again for raising these issues with us – quality is very important to us, and we appreciate it when our guests let us know when something isn’t right. Best wishes.

The tour is amazing, The best way to see the country and the sites, which are very busy. Our tour guide was Metin Pehlivan and he was amazing, very nice and knowledgeable and helpful and just a funny guy. Busses are clean and comfortable with lots of pit stops, Hotels were above average with the last Everen stone house being amazing!! Food was good, mostly buffets which is good, something for everyone, The sites were amazing!! So incredible!!! This is the best tour we have done and if you have the means book the hot air balloon over Cappadocia it is worth the money and just breathtaking!!!!!!!!

Fantastic tour. It exeded our expectations. Big air conditioned bus, prompt hotel pickup and return. Very professional wise driver who drove us hundreds of miles with smile on his face and no single mistake. The guide was very knowledgable and keen on every person and every detail of the tour program. She always gave advices and suggestions and was chosing the best resturants and best service stations on the road. The hotels were very comfortable and well chosen. This tour explored a huge no of tourist attractions along the western and southern coast of Turkey. Konya and Ankara were the ice on the already rich cake. Overall unforgetable experience!

Guide was brilliant, driver was very good, coach was very comfortable and only half - full meaning never felt crowded, and numbers at meals, tours, etc was very manageable. Excellent value for money and most interesting. Hotels were all fantastic. Hotel in Capadocia was great but too far from anywhere.
