Don’t book with any other company! Vigga was a fabulous guide. Borgi, her father was lovely too. They arranged for us to go early to avoid all the other tours and have all the time we wanted with no one else in our photos. Highly recommend!!!

This is a great outdoor activity to do while in Iceland, very unique.
This is one of the few companies that really have small groups (this makes total difference while exploring the caves)
Highly recommended
PS: Make sure to check their website prior booking here on Viator as they often update the information there more often

Small trip much better than the large groups got to drive right onto glacier. Guide was amazing funny and knowledgeable.

An experience we will be talking about for years! The beauty and history delivered effortlessly in a Super Jeep. Other tours would have you walk/hike to the caves… this one drives right up the glacier!
Our guide is a local and has been driving Super Jeeps since she was a teenager. Not only did our small group of 6 hear about the glaciers and Icelandic folklore, we felt incredibly safe!
Don’t pass on this opportunity… and don’t pass on doing it with this company!

This glacier ride and ice cave exploration were definite trip highlights! It was a cold, windy, blustery day though the sun was out and the sky was blue. We met our super jeep at the lot as directed and headed out right on time! I felt safe and secure on the ride but to drive on a glacier was/is mind blowing!
It was so special to be one of the first groups to explore the caves! We had the entire place to our little group of four (two couples and our guide). We were able to touch the glacier, the formations, the caves, tunnels. We slid down some, walked up and down others. We were able to sit and relax and look through the ice at the unique patterns created by time, wind, water, sun, ice. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Not many people get to experience the glacier let alone experience it the way we did. Thank you so much!

Boggi took us on the Ice Wonders glacier cave tour, and it was honestly one of the absolute highlights of our entire Iceland trip.
It was a very personal experience—just Boggi and us—no crowds, no rushing, no fuss. He took us straight to the glacier in a fantastic vehicle and made the whole day feel effortless from start to finish.
What really set the tour apart was Boggi himself. He brought Iceland’s history and folklore completely to life, telling stories about trolls—including the unforgettable tale of the kissing troll who turned to stone when his wife finally returned with all the seafood. Standing on the glacier while hearing these stories made the place feel alive and ancient in the best possible way.

This was my highlight of iceland...totally great. We got a beautiful look into the ice cave, the colors were fantastic

The best tour ever !
We didn’t wait at all to visit the caves- while all the other groupes had 30
People in a line.
Our 2 cars went on top of the glacier and out of all the tour guides we were the only one !
So it saves us 20 minutes walking in the unless cold.
Really really recommend this tour !

We had Vikka as a guide, who was wonderful and told us all about the local area. Vikka also made sure we were first in the cave which made a huge difference, and was patient in taking photos of everyone. We would suggest getting the later tour as 0900 in December meant the cave was not really "blue" until the end of our tour as the sun came up.

My husband and I loved this experience so much. We luckily got Boki as our guide. He’s passionate at what he does, so fun to be around, and truly cares about you having a very memorable experience. Highly highly recommend!!

Boggi was a wonderful guide! Great sense of humor and interesting stories. He really made us feel welcome. He also worked very hard to be sure that we had a good experience and got to the cave before it was crowded. The cave was beautiful - a truly unique experience. We recommend this tour to everyone!

We had an amazing time and experience with Boggi and his well equipped and secured off-road truck. The natural ice cave was spectacular. We visited it at lunch time which was on purpose as there were no other groups. Magnificent colours and walking and photo shooting under the ice of the glacier. It’s a must do thing with this small customer focused company.

Amazing tour!! Highly recommended!! Glad we did the semiprivate tour…people means no waiting in line to get into the cave.
Roopa_V, Mar 2025
Guide was very good and he took us in early and being in a small group was so much better. We missed the long queues. He also had interesting stories to share with us
Jennifer_C, Mar 2025
Boggi was awesome right from the start! With only 6 of us, he was able to answer all of our questions and make sure that we got all of the pictures we could have wanted. He was humorous, knowledgeable, and a great storyteller. We would 100% take another tour with him!

Our guide was awesome. He was very knowledgeable and quite funny. He made the experience fun and took us to amazing spots. The hike itself was AMAZING. Incredible experience. Absolutely loved everything about it.
KENGKENG_L, Mar 2024
The guide was fantastic and really friendly, he was very knowledgeable about iceland and the glaciers. The tour was run in a small group which made it way more personal and private. Having the time to go to the ice caves without worrying about large crowds was the best.

If you’re looking to AVOID the big tour groups that shuffle you through experiences like you’re cattle, BOOK HERE.
This is exactly the kind of tour experience I love. Small group (max 6), extremely knowledgable and entertaining guide, and it’s a small locally owned business! He provides the crampons and helmets, entertains you with stories along the way, chooses locations that aren’t overrun by large tour groups, and he is very personable.
And if you’re concerned about only getting to see the black/grey ice caves, DON’T be. I was at first, but the pretty blue ones you see all over Instagram are overrated! In person, the black ones are much more interesting and cool! Plus they’re more rare. But don’t worry because we got to see both.
Others we spoke to after who had gone with other tours weren’t as happy with their experiences (waiting in long lines in the cold to go into the tunnels, no crampons, etc…)
Without question, choose this guide over all the others.

We had a wonderful Iceland trip but the ice cave tour with Boggi from his company "Ice Cave In Iceland" was the highlight. We learned so much about the glacier in Iceland history from him. The best part was we were in a nice small group, 6 of us, rather than a big cluster. Made for a much better experience and easier to take our time getting good photos. Highly recommended for small group ice cave tour with a personal touch as a preferred alternative to the big bus tours.

We had a wonderful personal experience! We went at at time when there were very few other people (12 pm) so we were able to take lots of pictures! Seeing the blue cave was magical and our kids and us thoroughly enjoyed it. Our guide was kind and patient and gave us wonderful tips to take pictures. He was also very knowledgeable and gave us a lot additional info to enjoy our time in Iceland.

We chose a trip with Borgi because it organizes trips in small, intimate groups of up to 5 people. Leaving at 9 a.m. turned out to be a good idea, because we were the first group in the cave, and when we returned, other, much larger groups appeared. Borgi is a cheerful and communicative guide, he told us about the history of the glacier, the legends of Trolls, interesting places to see in Iceland, and gave us many other interesting tips about traveling in Iceland.
For those interested, I recommend contacting Borgi directly via social media to book a date.
Thanks Borgi for the great experience.

Perfect tour and an incredible guide! We got to see two caves (would have been three but one of my family members had health issues). One of them was a black ice cave and it was unreal. Would not hesitate to book this again if we are ever back in Iceland - only 5 people total on the tour which was exactly what we were looking for. Don’t hesitate - book this tour now!

My fiance and I loved this tour! It’s been the highlight of our trip so far. Boggi was personable and lively, and it really added to the experience. Please, please bundle up though! It’s chilly/very windy out on the glacier! Thanks again, Boggi!

What an amazing experience. I can't recommend highly enough that you book this trip. Our guide Borgi(apologies if spelt wrong!)was excellent. He only takes max 7 on each tour and at different times to other companies so we had the caves to ourselves which was extremely special. He provided all the safety gear that was needed. He was informative and fun. One tip though is please make sure you are correctly dressed. Proper warm clothes and shoes. Excellent experience.

Boggi is the best tour guide in Iceland! Patient, funny and deep knowledge of the land. My fiancé and I had a wonderful time. Thank you Boogi for providing such a memorable trip at the ice caves!

Great personalized tour with Boggi (owner and operator) in a small group. Knowledgeable, entertaining and always keeping us safe. Highly recommended experience.

Amazing experience! Tour times are perfect for avoiding the large crowds. Boggi was a marvelous guide - informative, funny, and he explained everything very well. I would highly recommend anyone this small group tour over any of the big group bus tours!!
Christopher_D, Mar 2022

We learned that the tour operator’s company is called Ice Caves in Iceland, and that is not just a description of the experience. Google the name and you can save some money by not paying the additional fees that Viator/Tripadvosor charge.
I would recommend this. It was one of the most memorable excursions that I have taken while traveling. The operator was kind, courteous, and truly wished for us to have an amazing experience, as opposed to being money to fill a seat. We saw the experience of other companies while at the ice caves, and everyone in our group was eternally grateful that we chose this one.
Response from Host, Mar 2022
Thanks for that and for going with us this is special and for me I want it to be just that so people can have the best memories from the cave.
Best regards
Boggi

You can drive about 45 minutes to the glacier in a typical off-road car. Our guide’s car was able to drive up to the glacier, which is why we were taken directly to the ice caves. Guests from other agencies had to run to the caves. It is certainly also an experience to hike on the glacier.
Our group consisted of 5 people. It's an advantage, of course, because you get through faster and there aren't others in the photos all the time. The fact that the guide had to mention this every 5 minutes, how great it is that he offers small groups, was a bit annoying after the third time.
The advantage of the small group was clear to everyone, which is why you also booked the tour with the small group.
The caves were great to look at. Photos of the organizer look even more impressive. In itself, the price for this tour is already very high and in our opinion excessive.
If there are no cashback offers for Viator, the tour is about 50€ cheaper if you book it directly with the organizer on the website. With cashback, Viator is cheaper.
A very high-priced experience, which we think is too expensive compared to snowmobile tours or other excursions in Iceland.
