Absolutely wonderful! Amazing views of both the glacier and ice cave. Our tour guide, Stefan, was very friendly. Not only did he take the time to teach the science behind the glacier and its history, but also talk to us individually to get to know us better.

Amazing experience, Stephan went out of his way to give our small group (6people) an individual experience. He avoided other tour groups doing similar excursions. And we had a significant amount of time in the blue ice caves without other groups. Additionally, this tour was more extensive than that of other operators.
It’s advisable that you’re a confident hiker and appropriately dressed.

The entire experience was surreal. Stefan was an amazing guide and gave great information on the glacier as well as history of Iceland. The trek was difficult and arduous but when I completed it I felt the most fantastic sense of accomplishment. The endorphin rush helped too! The ice cave itself was majestic and awe-inspiring. I’ve never seen anything like it before and it definitely was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.

Incredible experience on the glacier and visiting the ice caves with Stefan our guide, who imparted great knowledge not only about Jokulsarlon but also Iceland in general. It takes skill to manage a tour group with varying abilities and levels of enthusiasm. Walking on the glaciers and seeing the ice caves was an other worldly experience - one that I shall never forget. Highly recommend this tour company for this exceptional experience

Had the best time with our guide! He was lovely, calm, humble and was a pleasure to have been in his group. I’m sorry we didn’t catch your name, but you’re the one in the red jacket! Fantastic experience. Cave was a little smaller than I imagined (if this was small can’t imagine how much smaller others are) but other than than, enjoyed every bit.

I had an incredible experience on the Ice Cave and Glacier excursion! Our guide, Stefan, was absolutely amazing knowledgeable, patient, and so passionate about what he does. He made the entire adventure both educational and fun, explaining the history of the glacier and how the ice caves form, all while making sure everyone felt safe and comfortable on the ice.
The scenery was breathtaking, walking through the blue ice and seeing the layers up close was something I’ll never forget. Stefan also gave us plenty of time for photos and made sure we got the best views.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Iceland! It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and having Stefan as your guide makes it even more special.

Moderate to difficult is a fair description.. it would be too much if you were not use to walking a long way, up an ice hill, with crampons. The cave was beautiful and worth the hike. Stephan was our guide and he was excellent, made us feel comfortable, was patient and helped us feel safe. He also had a ton information about the glacier as well. He was as big a part of the fun as the cave itself.

My husband and I did the glacier hike and ice cave tour, and it was absolutely incredible! The views were unreal. Walking on the glacier felt like being on another planet, and the ice caves were just breathtaking. Our guide was amazing super knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel safe and fun. We learned so much about the glacier and Iceland’s landscape while also having a great adventure. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Iceland!

My family of five (two adults, three teenagers) loved our glacier tour and ice cave hike with Stefen. This is the excursion that I did the most research for on our trip to Iceland. All of the options can feel overwhelming - but I chose it specifically because it was a small group tour and it was meet-on-location. After seeing the massive group tours lined up all around us, I knew I'd picked the perfect option for our family. There were only 9 of us and we were able to really enjoy and experience the glacier and cave closely without dealing with a huge crowd. Stefen is very knowledgeable, funny, kind, and laidback. I would not hesitate to book any tours with this company and when we come back (which we definitely want to do one summer!) we'd choose Glacier Tours over any other options. If you are adventurous and doing a self-driving tour of Iceland, I would 100% recommend booking this tour to get the best experience possible.

This is the glacier tour that you want to go on if you are interested in really taking the time to explore both an ice cave as well as many other interesting features in the glacier ice! It was a great experience. Stefan was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable and personable. He took us to parts of the ice cave that the shorter tours did not have time to reach, and then also led us across the glacier ice. It takes a decent level of fitness to climb up - you are hiking in and then up the glacier, but entirely worth it for an amazing experience! Also, it is absolutely worth it to pay the extra for a small group tour. The big groups hardly had time, we paused and everyone was able to explore and get pictures. The maximum group size for this one is 8, and we were able to check out features that the larger groups missed.

Being with a small group is a real plus, particularly in the ice cave.
Stefan our guide knew his way around and found a bunch of blue holes.
This trip is strenuous, but well worth the effort.

The meet location that Viator give you is WRONG. You meet in the main car park alongside the buildings.
The whole experience is fabulous visiting several ice caves and other features within and on the glacier.

What an experience we had yesterday! First of all, a huge thank you to our guide Stefan who was interesting, dynamic and very kind. This is a 5 hours activity so an excellent guide like Stefan really makes all the difference! I specifically recommend this small group excursion because you will more fully appreciate all your moments which will certainly be memorable. For our part, there were only two of us and we were able to experience special moments.

The expense of this trip was so worth it - this easily sits in one of the top nature experiences I've had. The ice caves we saw were phenomenal and surreal, and the added adventure of walking on the glacier to visit more was stunning. Very enjoyable and strenuous hike over the glacier and seeing a variety of caves. Our guide Stefan was very knowledgeable, funny, and considerate towards the group. Trip was with family (4 adults) and there was another group of four with us on the hike - good size for the tour.

What an amazing experience! Thank you to Stefan, our fantastic guide, and his wife who assisted and joined us. Trekking with crampons on your boots onto the glacier is incredible in itself, but we were taken into the ice cave, as well as a stunning 'blue snake' canyon within the glacier. We were also belayed down into a moulin! Stunning views of the beautiful landscape throughout, and just an unforgettable day that we will all never forget. Highly recommended, 10/10. Amazing experience and would only recommend booking with this company. Seeing the many other groups that were MUCH bigger and not even going to the coolest ice caves? Pass. Our guide did a great job of making everyone feel safe on the ice with crampons and then also timed well our hike so we had time in the ice caves by ourselves. He also helped take cool pictures for us knowing the best angles to use. Highly highly recommend!

This tour was exceptional. Our guide, Vigfús, shared lots of history and lore of the glaciers and Iceland beyond. With a large amount of tours going in and out of the area, our guide did a very good job of providing an intimate experience. We hiked a distance to experience the ABC cave all to ourselves. Very much recommend this tour for a never ending wow. Also felt very safe throughout!

Sindri was an incredible guide! We loved the small size of the group and the knowledge he shared. He was very conscious of other groups, not crowding them, and timing things so we had some privacy to explore the places he took us. The pictures do not do the experience justice! Would 100% do it again and recommend to others! I spent a lot of time reading reviews prior to selecting a tour company and going with a smaller company was the best choice.

the glacier walk was incredible! our guide was excellent, I would just recommend doing a glacier walk only, then another day booking an early morning tour of the ice cave if you have the time. it gets crowded in there midday
