Whether you’re a hiker or a mountain biker, this one-way bus tour to the top of Kunanyi/ Mt. Wellington is a handy way to get to the top without exhausting yourself. You’ll be taken up in a shared bus with live commentary about the history and wildlife of the mountain. Then make your own way down on foot (a three-hour hike) or by mountain bike (around one hour).

Fabulous walk back down using footpaths as directed by bus driver. Very varied. Could be tough if you find uneven surfaces difficult.

Best $30 we ever spent in Hobart. We went one way and walked back which was another amazing experience thanks to Craig (the funny driver) who’s a comedian thankfully not the standing type. Super informative and friendly. Amazing views.

Tony is such a lovely driver I've taken the bus up a few times and he's always very thoughful this time he introduced the group (at a safe distance) to a Lovely tiger snake very impressed

Easy to follow meeting spot, great commentary, informative guide on several options available. It leaves from the centre of Hobart and then a few stops along the way to point out different attractions on the journey up. Very flexible to jump on different buses with different options too after booking

the bus driver (apologies I don't recall his name) went above and beyond, his knowledge and commentary along the way was most informative. He also gave me a map with suggested trails to follow back down the mountain, one of the most beautiful walks I have ever done.

Just took a ride up to the top
Of the mountain. All good and Christian, our driver/guide, was terrific and very helpful in giving us a map and suggested route for our bush walk back to town (via the Cascade brewery).

We had David as our driver, he was friendly and informative. 30min to walk around the top to take photos was enough in windy conditions. We were going to take the Zigzag track back down to Fern Tree but David recommend starting from The Chalet which half the bus need up doing. It was an easy walk and beautiful scenery. From there we hopped back on the bus and came back to Hobart. Definitely recommend doing this trip
