Excellent service. We had Greg as our driver and he was excellent. He had a great sense of humour and was very knowledgeable and generous. We caught the bus to the pinnacle on which we had 40mins and then got off at the springs and went for a 45 minute hike. There is a lovely pop up cafe there and a whole tavern at the ferns. Highly recommend!

It was excellent the snow was still there from the day before it was very windy but the scenery was beautiful the drive was wonderful great road.

The 4,170-foot (1,270-meter) peak of Mt. Wellington is one of Hobart’s most famous landmarks. This Explorer Bus ticket offers hassle-free transfers between Hobart and the mountain summit—a 30-minute journey each way. Your ticket is valid all day and there are several different departure times, so you can hop off to hike the mountain trails and spend as long as you like admiring the views from the summit.

Highly recommended short trip to Mt. Wellington, our driver/guide David was informative & funny. I went in mid-May, be prepared to wear warm clothes, hats, gloves etc. The wind was so strong but the view from the top was amazing

We had a fabulous day with our very knowledgeable driver who drove us safely to the summit and return. He stopped on the way to show us special things like a Tiger snake on the side of the road etc. We loved his dad jokes and his witty humour.

Writing A fantastic experience visiting Mt Wellington (Kunanyi). The drive up is beautiful and the views from the summit are absolutely stunning, overlooking Hobart, the Derwent River and surrounding mountains. It can be very windy and cold at the top, so bring a jacket. Definitely a must-do when visiting Hobart.

Christian Was The Best

Our driver, Christian, was one of the kindest humans I have yet to meet. At no time did he make the older folks with mobility issues feel badly. He loves the mountain and it showed. Even though the clouds were pervasive, he made the best of it and showed us everything in his power to make our trip memorable. If you get Chistian for your driver, count yourself lucky. Apparently, he's usually maintaining the busses. 😁 PS. Bring a warm coat & stocking cap. Even in February it was very cold at the top.

Hike Mt. Wellington

Super option for transport up Mt. Wellington! We hopped off once we were headed back down the mountain to do some hiking on one of many trail options and finished up at one of their designated stops. Hopped right back on and were delivered right back to the harbor! Great way for cruise passengers to get off the beaten path!

Recommended Hobart excursion

Christian was a wonderful guide on this excursion, and very helpful and considerate of our friend using a walker. He even included a brief easy trail walk at the Springs stop which helped us appreciate our visit at the top of Mt. Wellington. Even though there were still clouds obscuring most of our view, it wad a worthwhile and enjoyable experience for our brief time in Hobart.

View from the top!

Lovely, easy tour from Hobart central up to the top of kunanyi/Mount Wellington. We loved the journey and experience - Tony was a great host and the information was interesting and the jokes were silly and fun. We didn’t get off at any of the midway stops but they all looked enjoyable in different ways if you want a walk and then the view from the top while we stopped for about 30 minutes was incredible! Then a nice journey back. Lovely way to see the town, area and the mountain! Thanks

Moody Mt Wellington

Great day for a short trail down Mt Wellington despite the fog. We had Paul who drove our bus up to the summit. Expert driver on those tight bends, a few jokes on the way up. I did the Pipe organ trail from The Chalet to The Springs, took 1.5 hours with a gentle decline. A beautiful trail with native flowers blooming, mist and quiet. It set quite the mood.

The tour itself was fairly average but it did take us to a beautiful summit. The guide used a microphone, however the voice was still quite weak and difficult to understand. There were not enough seatbelt extenders for the bus when it was at full capacity. The journey itself was smooth and uneventful.

We are disappointed that the driver commentary was difficult to hear. I hope you made this known to the driver on the day. It is easy and straight forward for the driver to make some minor adjustments to the public announcement system setting so that the commentary comes out of the speakers louder. I have flagged this with our maintenance team and they will look into this as a matter of priority. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We carry 4 x seatbelt extensions on each our mountain buses. Thank you for letting us know that on the day you travelled this wasn't enough. We are more than happy to invest in as many extension belts as needed to ensure our passengers are safe and comfortable. Thank you for the time you have taken to provide feedback about your tour.
