Itinerary

Depart from your Guilin hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan at a time that suits your schedule. Enjoy the spectacular scenery during the 5-mile (8-km) drive to Yao Mountain. Famed for its radical seasonal transformations, the Yao Mountain is a distinct and dazzling tableau that differs depending on the time of year; see vibrant throngs of azakea flowers in the autumn, and green bamboo and lush pine trees in spring and summer respectively.

On arrival, climb into a ski lift and enjoy a smooth ascent of the mountain. Marvel at incredible views of the rolling landscapes and see the quaint villages that pepper the greenery on your journey down the slope.

Disembark then begin your journey to a nearby tea plantation cradled by mountains; once the royal tea garden of the Ming dynasty, the rich and fertile soil results in a bounteous crop of high quality tea. Tour the plantation and learn about complex production processes while sampling some of the gorgeous green tea grown in the fields.

Relax during the drive back to your Guilin hotel, where the tour concludes.

My family had a great time on the Yao mountain and the tea plantation. Our guide spoke surprisingly good English and not Chinglish. She was informative and friendly. We learnt a lot about tea production. Recommended.

Yao Mountain was great to see and the luge run from the middle station of the chairlift was great fun. Be careful of the Minorities show at the summit as they use this to get a lot of extra cash from you! The tea plantation was a little disappointing though and just an excise to get you to buy very expensive tea!!

Guilin is a beautiful city. Rains 70% of the year so I hope your are lucky with a sunny day. For tea lover the tour is fantastic. The view of the mountain is breathtaking. My guide was very helpful.
