A lovely day around Old Goa/ Spice Plantation

Ariel_N, Nov 2025
The guide and driver were excellent catering the discussion around my interests in local culture and customs. While visiting Bom Jesus, I learned that it’s next to the archaeology museum. I asked to tour the museum, but unfortunately it was closed Fridays. I was however able to explore their outdoor collection of architectural remnants which was a treat as an anthropology student. The highlights for me were the temple and the spice plantation. They have a store at the plantation where I was able buy lots of spices and natural soaps.

Amazing experience and educational too!

Eric_Y, Jun 2024
We had an excellent experience on this tour - visiting the historic sites of Goa and learning about the colonial history, the impact of the Catholic Church, as well as the still very strong influence of Hinduism - the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Bom Jesus Basilica with the relics of St Francis Xavier, the Church of St Francis of Assisi, and the Sé (St Catherine) Cathedral, were amazing to behold and to participate in the Hindu arti ritual at the Shree Mangueshi Temple was also a special highlight. Our tour guide, Dnyandeep, was super - he was very knowledgeable, friendly, patient and accommodating. We were never rushed at any of the sites on the tour and were able to take our time and take in the specialness of these religious sites, with Dnyandeep providing historical information and social and cultural details. The Tropical Spice Plantation tour was also excellent - our guide, Susmita, was very helpful in providing information on many of the plants, trees, fruits, and spices on the grounds of the plantation. The lunch was plentiful and delicious, with a lot of options and the food was made in the local Goan style. The cashew feni tasting was a fun way to end the tour. Our driver, Krishna, was also excellent and friendly, and drove us around safely from place to place. Definitely highly recommend this tour.

Not a tour, just a very expensive private driver

Alexandre_L, Dec 2022
Not a tour, just having a private driver. But very expensive for India, a total rip off. Avoid at all cost.

Response from Host, Dec 2022

Dear Guest, you first pre-reserved guaranteed services from Viator, then after reaching the venue you checked prices locally with roadside and unsafe vendors. And then you try to force genuine operators like us to operate like a roadside taxi vendor. Few dishonest travellers like you try to torment genuine operators but we won't ever come under pressure. You are always free to cancel and go with a toute OR roadside vendor. But you will never do that but you also don't want to pay a premium for consuming genuine services. This shows your character and dishonesty. Also you are telling a plain lie that the tour was about only a driver, but what about the traditional lunch which you happily devoured, what about the guided tour in the "Spice farm"???, and the entrances which were paid in advance??? Even Backpackers seem much more honest than you, because they never bother any operators and take the risk by booking on their own at the respective venue. But you first pre-reserved everything from the comfort of your home and then behave irrationally after reaching the venue Regards Jai Singh
