The husband and I are visiting from New York, which has a deep Spanish connection. We also happen to be huge fans of Puerto Rico. It was interesting to discover the Portuguese parallel history from the Age of Discovery.
Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and had charming stories for us. She enhanced the experience with complimentary add ons like recycled bags made from silk saris and local dessert at Fontinas.

We listened for 2 1/2 hours and learned very little. We didn’t go far. It took us 10 min to walk back to the starting point after the tour ended. We have been to many walking tours previously and this one ranks very low. I will not fault the tour guide, but the architect of the tour designer. You can showcase Goa better.

Our storyteller, Calvin, was knowledgeable and attentive to all our interests. He gave a a very well-rounded tour, including an interesting insight into the history, architecture, ethnic and religious traditions and heritage of Panjim, and Fontanhas in particular. He treated us with delicious tastings of sweets and local drinks - and a surprise guitar serenade.
All in all, it was a fun day, in which we learned a lot!

We had an excellent experience on the heritage walk at Fontainhas with Shreeya. She was knowledgable, articulate and we went around many of the landmarks in the area and got to know the area better. Trancy was a very informative & great tour guide… so friendly and personable. My husband and I were really lucky to be in a group of 3 at 6pm on a Sunday.
We walked some very pretty and historic back streets that we never knew were there, round the corner from our hotel. We were told so much history about the story of Goa, architecture and people.
Perfect time of day when not so hot or busy.
It was an added bonus to have a sweet treat at a beautiful little bakery during our walk and refreshing juice at the end.

We did this tour in late March and even with the early start it was still too hot for us. The pace of the tour was a little slow for us and although there was lots of interesting buildings to see the area covered was quite small. There are lots of signs saying photography was banned with threat of reporting to the police and it would have been nice to be advised of this in the tour description. We went on a Sunday and there were lots of, what we were told, ‘pre-weddding photo shoots’ going on using the various buildings as backdrops. I can understand how wearing it would be to have photos being taken outside your house all the time.
Our guide (‘Story Teller’) didn’t really ‘read’ the group that well as she continually asked questions that mostly no one knew the answers to, maybe it would have been better to just explain things rather than going through the guesses to her questions.

This was such a fun way to explore the Fontainhas historic neighborhood! Rachana was so knowledgeable and provided really interesting facts about the history of the area and Portuguese culture. We also really enjoyed the musical performance and treats at the end! The walking wasn’t too taxing even for the older members of our family and all in all it was a great way to see this unesco heritage site!

Arrived at the main Post Office, who sent us on a walk over the bridge to another post place as they didn’t recognise the address given by Viator! They were wrong so had to walk back and were nearly late!! Fascinating part of the town! Great bakery, too!

The tour was too slow. The guide was letting an American who wanted to talk about Persia influence on India take over the narrative of the tour, hence we were held up listening to this rubbish the whole tour.

I really enjoyed this walk and learnt so much. Alita was a wonderful storyteller - knowledgeable, friendly and informative. It was so much better doing a guided walk rather than walking round on my own. I particularly enjoyed the treats from the bakery.

The walking tour was a very relaxed pace and incredibly informative. I appreciate being able to learn both the rich history of the Latin Quarter and about some of the current challenges in the community. During the tour, we received complimentary Goan pastries and refreshments which also serve as food recommendations for your day trip in the quarter. I highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to learn more about the quarter beyond the picturesque homes.

We did not find the experience enjoyable even though the walk itself is quite interesting. On a hot day we were made to stand in the sun to hear stories that frankly were just long rambling discourses. Our guide couldn't read our discomfort and we finally just left the walk midway unable to take it anymore.

Outstanding walking tour that you must undertake if you wanted to get know some Goan history and get away from the usual tourist traps. It was a small group of friendly folks and our guide Hinaz was excellent, with her subject knowledge. She showed great patience with us and was more than willing to answer our questions. She paced it pretty well without needlessly rushing through despite the sporadic showers. The final stop was at the home of the famous musician Chico who at that age was gracious enough to belt out a few numbers for the group. Overall a must if you are around in the Panjim area.

Most of us come to Goa to have a good time and take a break from our quotidian lives. I am glad I did this but I am even happier that my buddy and I spent a few hours walking through Fontainhas, the latin quarter in Panaji, with Hinaz, our guide. Hinaz gave us a feel for what it meant to live when the Portuguese were still in power and we also saw physical reminders of those times. I was fascinated by how pivotal of a role Panaji played for the Portugese empire. The immersive story-telling experience curated by Make It Happen, including a stop for traditional Goan sweets and being serenaded by a local musician, was brilliant and I highly recommend it!
