Louise is very knowledgeable, friendly and fun. Learned a lot about Glasgow's history and Mackintosh's life and influence.

    Architecture of central Glasgow

    George_P, Aug 2026
Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, funny and kind. We had to leave early because we had another commitment. An interesting architectural tour of Central Glasgow. Less of McIntosh’s work than I expected, but interesting to architectural students and fans.

An interesting talk with lots of background information. Quite a bit of walking at a reasonable speed. Worth combining with a trip to the Ronnie Mackintosh House at the Huntarian Museum

Our guide, Tommy, was as entertaining as he was informative. He shared a lot of information about the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau movements in Glasgow, giving a clear context for the work of Charles Rennie Macintosh. He made a point of including information about female artists of the time. He has a great sense of humor and friendly, welcoming manner. It was worth making time for this tour.

A very good overview of Mackintosh life and work in Glasgow. It's a lengthy walk; but Tommie, our guide is very well informed and prepared to share voluminous data about RM, his wife, and his work.

    Very informative and highly engaging.

    MATTHEW_R, Oct 2025
We traveled to Glasgow specifically for the tour and were not disappointed. Studied his work in school and hoped to see his work some day.

    Peppy and informative!

    Alex_R, Oct 2025
Vas was an excellent guide, and happily answered all our questions. Thoroughly enjoyable tour, even on a windy wet morning.

A great walk (in the rain!)

    Eleanor_G, Sep 2025
Fascinating stories shared by our excellent guide Louise provided us not only with insights into the world of Mackintosh, but also into Scottish life and culture.

    Tommy is brilliant.

    Aaron_D, Aug 2025
Our guide Tommy was brilliant...more than knowledgeable, thorough, articulate, charismatic, hilarious, approachable, and sensitive to individual needs. He was our dream entry person to Mackintosh and Glasgow overall!

    Ethan_K, May 2025
Tommy is an excellent guide who knows his Mackintosh and Glasgow history and explains it clearly and is very friendly and entertaining. I felt like a fit a tour of the city while learning about Mackintosh and seeing the sites relevant to his life and career.

For those who love Art and history.

    Judith_A, May 2025
The guide, Tommy was brilliant and told the story of CRM and his wife Margaret with passion. Visit the old Glasgow.

    Chris_N, May 2024
What a fun morning touring Glasgow and various Mackintosh points of interest. Many great stories, beautiful architecture, and other fun sites. Tommy was the ultimate tour guide- on point, funny, and technical. Well worth the modest cost.

A do not miss experience for fans of CRM

    Ruth_S, Jul 2023

Wonderful Charles Rennie Mackintosh walking tour

    Robin_B, Aug 2022
Great guide who was very knowledgeable and had a great personality! Enjoyed all of his stories and tales.

Great Tour - Viator messed up reservation

    John_B, Jun 2022
Great walking tour. Guide was excellent. Sadly, he did not have our names on the reservation list because they had not been passed along by Viator. Apparently this happens frequently. Lesson learned, book directly with the tour company.

    Response from Host, Jun 2022

Hi John, so glad you enjoyed the Mackintosh tour! :)

Could have been better! A bit too much "Glesga' inflection

    June_F, May 2022
Finding the hidden Mackintosh buildings in Lanes was an eye opener. However one of the stops was missed, stop 7 The Glasgow Art Club-'Marvel at Mackintosh's work and learn about the ladies art movement of the time'. and the Lighthouse was unfortunately closed. The guide was informative but a wee bit too much of the Glasgow Patter- not really necessary.

    Response from Host, Jun 2022

Thanks June for the review, will take that to note! Really appreciate it :)

Nice tour, but it began uncomfortably.

    Eric_M, May 2022
I enjoyed the tour and the enthusiasm of the guide, Tommy, but somehow he did NOT have me down on his list of paid reservations. So somebody slipped up somewhere. Fortunately, Tommy was very nice and allowed me to take a tour anyway. Fortunately, I had my printed confirmation as proof, even though the tour company apparently did not.

    Response from Host, May 2022

Hi Eric, As I said in the message to you, there was an error with our booking system which is now resolved. I'm really sorry to hear that the tour started that way for you, however, I'm glad to hear that you still managed to go on one of our tours. We hope that you enjoyed your Charles Rennie Mackintosh tour. All the best, Em
