Great day trip from Fez

This was a very beautiful and interesting day trip from Fez. The drive through the countryside was lovely. The Roman ruins of Volubilis were especially stunning with the backdrop of wildflowers and green hills. (I recommend paying for the local guide - it enhances the experience.) Mohamed stopped for photos and gave us several choices for activities. At the end, he gave us a wonderful little tour of the outside of the Medina, including the drive up to the fort overlooking the city and a trip to the ceramic tile making/ mosaic coop (highly recommended). There was no pressure to buy anything and the coop was fascinating.

Our English speaking driver picked us up right on time for our full day car trip. He was a VERY FAST and efficient driver who was friendly and helpful in every way. He dropped us at each site and told us where to go and what to do. Volubilis was wonderful and we spent 3 hours there. Meknes was very crowded and many of the sites were closed for renovation, but our driver told us what was open and made sure we saw what we wanted to see. He was kind enough to rescue us once when we were hopelessly lost. We had a nice day of touring.

Missing belongings and disorganized pickup

Don’t leave anything in the bus, my jacket went missing and the operator was less than helpful in recovering. The pickup was disorganized and rather than pick up at my riad as discussed I had to walk 2km and wait at a cafe with a guide while the other guests were waiting for me on the bus across the Medina. The restaurant they took us to was extremely slow and wish we had more time in Vobulis and much less time in Meknes

We had a great experience. Driver was very nice, gave us some information along the way and was very patient and flexible in terms of time spent at each location and where we wanted to go. His driving was calm and safe as well. Would recommend.
