A day in Chefchaouen

Although 4 hour long trip to get there, it was a very comfortable & interesting experience as we saw the landscapes & how locals truly live on our way to chefchaouen and back. Additionally outer driver Ayman was incredibly helpful & an incredible driver. Chefchaouen is indeed an amazing blue city & although it was raining we truly enjoyed going around the shops & taking photos. I highly recommend visiting el cielo (a small but very nice & cozy restaurant with incredible food) for lunch during your time there. Thank you Ayman!

Chefchaouen is not worth the hype specially travelling part which is stressing 4 hours each side. It’s a beautiful town on hills with some amazing backdrop for your Instagram photo shoot and one time visit is enough. We made our plan to Fes just to visit Chefchaouen but not worth. Pick and drop were also delayed with last seat available in a van which was most uncomfortable ride in my life in patchy roads.

Thank you for your review Firstly you have been booked the excursion in the last minutes , that why you were in the group in french languages Secondly you booked the excursion to ho and back and free 4 hours of the visit in chefchaouen . So the guide are not included , but you request about the guide and you pay him directly . Even we informed every body that chefchaouen its too small and no needed of the guide its five large street and one main entrance. Redwan Best regarding

It was mostly as mentioned in the description except that there was no pre trip communication from the company. I had to request their contact number via help just to make sure everything went smoothly near pickup time. They mentioned 4 hours in Chefchaouen but actually only allowed 3 hours. This 25% shorter than expected duration made a big difference and we had to hurry along as time went by quickly. This was disappointing as we decided to book this trip and not use public transport due to 4 hours. I feel they could have cut down on the stops in the middle to allow more time in Chefchaouen.

Mohammed was an excellent driver and pointed out popular sites as he drove us to Chefchaouen. The ride was comfortable with A/C, and we stopped off a few times for a toilet rest, food/drink and to view some scenery. It was a pleasure meeting Mohammed’s father at one of the stop-offs. Chefchaouen was incredible with a more relaxed medina than in Marrakech & Fes. Would recommend this trip

Wonderful trip. Driver (not a guide) was pleasant, on time. Made a couple stops on the way for photos, breaks. Chefchaouen is terrific and worth the long trip. Highly recommend. Tour leaves plenty of time for sightseeing plus lunch—did not feel rushed or shortchanged on time to explore, shop, lunch.

I was visiting a friend in Fez and was looking for something to do for the day. Saw this on TripAdvisor and decided to book. Very good price for an eight-hour round trip: four hours there, four back, with four hours to explore once you get there. I have to admit, there isn't a massive amount to fill the time in Chefchaouen, so I just wandered the medina, had lunch and climbed the tower in the kasbah (it was a bit hot to walk to the Spanish mosque). I had to Google things to do, it would have been nice to have a bit more info from the guide about what to see when we arrived, but overall a nice way to see a bit of the country in air-conditioned comfort.

Not as advertised - do not recommend

We do NOT recommend this tour as it is not as advertised. There was no guide, no English speaking driver, no small group (supposed to be 6 people max yet there were 14 people crammed into a shuttle), no AC, no WiFi, no Covid safety protocols being followed. We purposely booked a small group for Covid safety so to end up being jammed in a vehicle with 14 people (more than double the amount advertised and agreed to), we feel is a safety issue. We will be reporting this to Viator so they are aware that what is advertised is not what is reality. Please be cautious if you book this.

First of all this wasn’t a tour.. it was just a taxi ride from fez to chefchaouen. A guy arrived to our hotel to pick us up and then took us to a bigger van with 14 more people, the van didn’t have AC or wifi as it is mentioned in the description of the tour, also no breakfast. We drove 4 hours with the windows open on a 30 degree weather, so all of us were basically melting… We got to chefchaouen and the driver left us in the middle of the street and told us he would pick us up 4 hours later and that was it. He came back a little bit late and drove as fast and bad as he could since we were already late for the arrival hour, he didn’t make any stops on our way back not even to use the toilet. We got back to the medina and they had us waiting for 15 minutes for another driver to come so he could take us to the hotel.. a car with 2 guys got there and took another couple to their hostel and when we were the next ones the driver decided to come back to the medina saying they were going to pick up someone else which made us feel really insecure. We had to stop them and left the car and had to get a taxi to get back to the hotel… 14 hours later we got back to our hotel extremely disappointed with this experience.

We left 40' later (after being swapped between vans) meaning 40' less to spend at our destination. Also, there was no breakfast included (while it was stated in the package). The driver was very good and the drive super comfortable but be warned: this is an unguided tour.

Malgré un chauffeur fort peu agréable et absolument pas respectueux de ses passagers, le seul de toutes nos excursions, nous avons apprécié cheminer au hazard des ruelles de la jolie ville de Chefchaouen en faisant un petit safari photo.

Nous avions sélectionné ce préstataire car nous savons que le trajet vers Chefchaouen est long et voulons passer un maximum de temps pour visiter la ville bleu sans pseudo guide ou attrape touriste. Le tarif est un peu plus élevé car c'est en petit groupe de 8 participants. Van non climatisé, mais avec les fenêtres ouvertes, ça passent. Notre chauffeur était très prudent sur la conduite et attentionné (petite bouteille d'eau à l'allée et petit encas au retour). Malgré celà nous avons comme même été secoué sur une portion de la route qui été cabossée. Pas de perte de temps, premier arrêt : panorama sur un lac et second arrêt : pause pipi et rafraîchissements au tarif local, ensuite 4h de quartier libre à Chefchaouen pour déjeuner et visiter. Au retour, pause au même endroit qu'à l'allée.

Très belle journée dans la jolie ville bleue de Chefchaouen oú nous avons pu profiter pleinement pendant 4h et faire de magnifiques photos. Trajet aller retour un peu long mais ça vaut largement le détour!
