The tour is priced reasonably but we felt the tour operator is rushing during the tour we were 4 total and he added 2 more who were not in our group and he followed with them most of the time during walking tours not waiting for us we literally running to be with him and follow what he was saying which is hard as the terrain is sandy / rocky and slippery . We wish we had more friendly guide
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Hi,
Thank you for the review and feedback.
We are glad that you found the tour to be a good price, although we are sorry that it didn't meet expectations in other aspects. Our tours are shared 4x4 vehicles and so, although we do keep groups together, it is more than likely that you will be placed with other groups/guests up to the capacity of 6 people per tour. We do allow guests to purchase tickets on the day or reschedule to a different tour time than they were allocated, if we have the ability to facilitate this as where possible we fill vehicles to capacity. This is accounted for in the price being much less than our private tours and we do try to make this explicit, so our apologies if that wasn't very clear. Although we do have to keep to a schedule, our guides are usually known for being friendly and so I am sorry if this wasn't felt to be the case. We have spoken to the guide who explained that he struggled to keep the party together at the colony and was concerned that a member of your group who went on ahead would get lost if the rest didn't try to catch up with him - hopefully that goes some way to explain why it came across as rushed. He said he realised that you were disappointed to be on a shared tour and tried to make up for the disappointment by ensuring that your group could be dropped at a desired location at the end of the tour, which is something that we usually are not always able to offer to are shared tours due to time constraints. We've taken your feedback on board and really hope that you enjoyed the rest of your time visiting the islands.

We had a lovely time seeing the penguins and got a lovely little bit of history of the islands! We enjoyed the beach and were thankful for gorgeous weather!
Jeffrey_S, Mar 2026
We were very happy with the tour guide. He took us to a number of areas where we saw different penguins. He had a very good knowledge of the Island and I would strongly recommend this tour.

Highly personable tour which gives a great insight into island living as well as the nature. Simon accompanied us to guide us and although on a timetable there was no sense of rush. Thoroughly enjoyable perhaps go in early afternoon to see more penguins than in morning.

Great experience, we were with 2 other passengers in a spacious Range Rover. Simon was a fantastic tour guide, explained so much along the way and spent another half hour with us to tour us around to the other side of Stanley which was out of the scope of the tour Thanks so much Simon!
Lubov_T, Feb 2026
Our guide was Simon. He was so knowledgeable, professional and very helpful. It was an excellent experience with him walking to the colony of penguins! His knowledge about these awesome creatures was great, as well as the history of Falkland Islands and his great love and loyalty to United Kingdom! We loved it!

A visit to a Gentou penguin colony in a small group (6) with a knowledgeable friendly guide. The transportation was comfortable and the length of the tour was just right. I recommend Simon’s Tours

Because it was a small group tour it felt more personalized. Simon was a great tour guide very knowledgeable, easy going and accommodating. Short tour compared to the others but I feel we still covered alot. Loved seeing the penguins!
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for the lovely review and feedback! We know that short tours aren't for everyone but we agree that it can be a great and more affordable way to experience the wildlife and see a bit of the landscape before or after exploring our little city. Glad you enjoyed it!
John_W, Feb 2026
Saw some penguins and the shipwreck. Knowledgeable and friendly guide. Affordable alternative to ship excursion.

Great tour. Only about an hour and a half vs 3+ hours for others. We are on a cruise so not a lot of time so this was perfect amount of time. Simon was great. He took us through town, to the airport, plenty of time with the penguins, then saw a shipwreck near a beach on the way back. Small tours are great as we get closer and quicker access. Highly recommend Simon Tours.

We went with Simon’s Tours. Veronica our guide was very knowledgable and even added an extra venue at no extra cost. Saw loads of penguins close up and plenty of bird species in a 4 x 4 with a max six people. Highly recommended.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Hi Barry, thanks so much for this fantastic review! We always try our best to help you get the most out of your time. We hope you can look back on lots of great photos and great memories!

The problem we had was the schedule time of the activity. We wanted and early time, the tender boats from our ship the Celebrity
equinox brought us on shore about 20 minutes past 10:00h, the tour left without us and rescheduled at 16:00h witch was much late for us to wait all day. We were very disappointed. We did it anyway. The tour was very good but we were exhausted from the long wait at our age 77 years old.
The great weakness of this tour was that when we booked we did not have the time of our tour witch could have us make arrangement with the tender boats to get there on time.
If this information was specified I would recommend this experience to a friend or family.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Hi Robert,
Thank you for your honest feedback.
As we are a based at a tendering port, unfortunately, we are at the mercy of the cruise operator and their tenders. They don't release the tender times to us until the day before and we use that information to book guests onto our 1hr penguin tour time slots. We do this based on group size and we acknowledge time preferences, where possible.
We do try to reach all our guests on email/whatsapp to make sure they get the information regarding their tour time but we know the nature of the remote location and of cruising means that internet access isn't always easy to come by - we apologise if the information didn't reach you.
The tendering process is something that we are always trying to work alongside and understand. Depending on the cruise line, certain guests are given priority over tenders (especially those on longer, day tours) but this is often not communicated to us or the guests particularly well. We make our best estimate as to the earliest time that you will be able to reach us after docking and try to be very generous with our start times.
As you know, our tours involve 4x4 vehicles and as a small business we have two of these running tours back to back on any given day. So, unlike the tours on large coaches or minibuses, it means that we cannot facilitate for everyone to walk off a tender and onto a tour. Often we are fully booked from first to last tender and if a time slot is missed, we try our best to fit them in on a later tour but sometimes this isn't possible, or it isn't possible to give you a time that you really want.
We appreciate your feedback and encourage anyone in a similar position to acknowledge that tenders can be an issue and although there are some nice cafes, gift shops and sites like the museum to explore while you wait we know this doesn't work for everyone. Perhaps requesting an afternoon tour or looking for a pre-booked coach tour, a cruise-booked tour, or more bespoke private tour may be a better option for those who are concerned about morning tendering and missing an earlier tour time.
We are pleased that you enjoyed your tour in the end and hope that it came with lots of nice memories and photos.

Wonderful small group tour. We saw the shipwreck, totem pole and king, Magellan penguins in a beautiful ocean setting. Our guide Veronica made the tour very special. She took the time to explain the history of the islands and she knew all about the penguin colonies. It was an uplifting and very thoughtful tour. We would do it again. Do yourself a favor and book this tour.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Hi Helen, wow! What a glowing review, it means such a lot to hear about your experience and describing the tour as 'thoughtful' is a lovely way to put it. We are so glad you enjoyed your time with us. Thank you!

Veronica was such an awesome tour guide. Very communicative throughout the process on where to meet and what to expect. She was very knowledgeable about the penguins and other animals on the Islands. 10/10 recommend booking this tour if you’re in the Falkland Islands.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you so much for your kind review! We are really glad to hear that you had a wonderful visit. We appreciate your positive feedback about communication as you can imagine it can be a tricky element of arriving at a remote island location! We always try to communicate as much information as possible on meeting times and locations, so thank you for saying that. 10/10 guests as well!
Jessica_M, Jan 2026
Our guide Veronica was very friendly and gave us options. We chose the wildlife option so got to see 3 different species of penguins!!! Bonus!!! She was also kind enough to stop for a photo opp with the shipwreck. All I all a good tour
