Son nearly broke neck, ATVs course dangerous

The ATV course we took should be for adults and experienced drivers ONLY. My son flipped over in the ATV and had to take him to the hospital. My brother went with a different ATV company who gave clear instructions (not simply tell us where the gas and breaks are and send us off) and their course was flat and not full of dangerous hills. They made the helmets optional, but I'm glad I made my family all wear one because if I didn't, my son could have had a never different ending. Potentionally a broken neck. Gratefully my son only has severe brusing in his ribs and over his body. Nothing was broken, but I have a 6,000 AED emergency bill. Additionally, my husband got motion sick during the Dune bashing. In all of the chaos and didn't realize the people at the store triple charged us for sodas. On the way to the BBQ we got stuck. Then when at the BBQ, with my son and husband were not feeling well and wanted to eat but they wouldn't let us eat until after the performances which was nearly 830pm.

Thank you for your feedback. The participation in desert quad bike activity is by own choice, and responsibility including the associated risks. The quad bike activity was outside the scope of your booking and it was entirely your choice which quad provider to go with and what safety measures you deem reasonable. It’s a a shame when common sense surfaces only after unfortunate events. X-tream sports carry a risk and in case of doubt, as a responsible parent, you should have not allowed your child to participate without supervision or without an accompanying adult. We hope your son is now well and has fully recovered. Regarding the opening time of the camp buffet, this is the standard time to allow everyone a fair start. There’s an option to purchase drinks and snacks from the local shops if needed. But here again, you were unhappy about the prices paid at a tourist destination far away from urban areas. We are unsure what we could have done differently for you to make your experience any better. It seems you have made wrong choices outside the scope of the booking, these choices are entirely yours and outside our influence. We wish you better experiences in the future.

Survived another desert safari ride without needing a chiropractor 🤣🤣 We enjoyed this excursion for the overall experience, but I would highly suggest that tourists request a maximum of 4 people + driver. Being cramped into the 3rd row of the SUV was very uncomfortable for such a bumpy ride. I would NOT suggest anyone over 5’5 to sit in the very back. You will risk serious neck & back injury. My iPad was tucked safely in my purse with a hard cover, and because of the tight ride & thrashing around during the ride, the screen got cracked. 😔

The standard for Safari (4X4) SUV is 6 sharing passengers, with the option of an individual private car booking for those seeking more comfort. We always recommend well in advance booking; however, it becomes difficult to guarantee middle seats during a high season if the booking was made on the same day. In this case, the booking was made just before cut off time for pick up and the only slot available was last row at the SUV. In all cases, we strongly recommend to log notes or special requests on your booking form regarding any specific needs or preferences, so we are made aware beforehand and can accommodate accordingly - or at least let you know in advance if it’s not possible to accommodate. You are always encouraged during the Safari trip to communicate with and raise any specific needs with the Safari Guide (Driver). Our Safari Guides are trained and regularly briefed to do all necessary to help and assist you immediately. We understood from the booking form and the Safari guide that no specific requests were made. Therefore, it was assumed your trip was meeting your requirements. Furthermore, with over 20 years in Safari operations, this is the first report of a handheld device was damaged during the trip, particularly when it’s in a protective cover and secured in a purse. We are not sure why, but it’s highly unlikely to be related to the Safari trip since the SUVs are modern, comfortable and equipped with all safety measures to international standards. Your review is valuable to us, and we would you to enjoy many more of Desert Safari experiences. It’s strongly advised to book well in advance and log any special requests on your booking form and always communicate your needs with the Safari Driver.
