This was my first time in Germany, and as an American, I think it’s easy to forget that Germany has a rich and fascinating history that stretches far beyond World War II. In fact, I had never even heard of Dresden until I started researching this trip three months ago.
Karen did an incredible job bringing the city’s history to life, covering centuries of fascinating events while connecting them to present-day Dresden. She was knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely kind, taking the time to answer every question our group had.
I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. If you’re visiting Dresden, don’t miss it. 10/10!

Thank you!

What a wonderful, relaxing, yet informative tour of historic Dresden. While I knew a bit about the destruction and bombings Dresden suffered during WWII this excellent tour, and our great guide, Robert (or Robby) provided some excellent information and historic background-context for our sights. It was a lovely 2.5 hours of walking at a leisurely pace throughout the major areas near Old Town Dresden. I had been in Dresden already for two days, but the places our guide showed us were not originally on my radar, so to speak, and so I was most surprised and pleased. Our guide knew so much and he showed us several photographs to show us what our stops looked like before and after WWII to compare with what they look like now. I was most impressed with the information I received about the architecture of the palace and other buildings. Our guide was very effective at keeping us all together, moving, and answering a lot of questions. Super fun, enjoyable walking tour--and I LOVE walking! For those who may be worried about the difficulty of the walk, do not fear. All was essentially flat and gentle walking with lots of stops for rest and sight seeing. Well worth taking when you are in Dresden.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
What a wonderful testimonial to Robert and to the spirit of our tours. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed and helpful review!

One of the most knowledgeable and interesting tour guides I’ve ever had! Karen guided us through Dresden’s history and landmarks from the beginning up through the present day. She is a gifted tour guide and you will leave with a much deeper understanding of Dresden.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for the review and for joining the tour on a really hot day! I am glad to hear it was worth it.

Great tour by a knowledgeable and enthusiastic US expat, Karen Reiman. Highly recommended over just walking around in a large group free tour or on your own.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Absolutely- Walk with us rather than on your own, or being lost in a Free Tour crowd! Thank you for mentioning it and for supporting a local business by choosing us. Thank you for your review!

Beautiful city. Laura was an excellent tour guide with a lot of knowledge of the city and its history
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for your review and kind words!
Catherine_S, Jun 2026
Our guide Laura was full of energy, enthusiastic, and information. We learned so much about the beautiful old town of Dresden. I wish I had more time to explore all the suggestions by Laura of getting to know this part of the world.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for finding our beloved city enchanting and for your lovely review. Truly, people need to spend at least three days here to explore the city and its sights. Five days if they want to include day trips to other cities like Meissen or even Saxon Switzerland!
Anna_S, Jun 2026
Wonderful, very knowledgeable guide, with a great sense of humor, very friendly. Thank you, Laura!!!
Response from Host, Jun 2026

Need to walk for 2 hours. Have an interest in history. Amazing facts given by tour guide - very knowledgeable.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for your review. Thanks also for letting others know what to expect.
Nadine_M, Jun 2026
A lot of standing around- 20mins of talking at a time. Focused on a very small area off the city. The guide's delivery was very dry and lacking enthusiasm, but that could be just his manner.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Sorry to hear that. We will try and improve.
Patricia_F, May 2026

This was a good background tour of Dresden. Provided a layout and base history. Our guide Laura also explained post World War 2 rebuilding. We also got to understand Neustadt / New Town as we plan to discover the day after the tour.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you for your review. Hope you enjoyed Neustadt the next day!
Robb_W, May 2026
The guide Marion was very nice , but we expected a walking tour that was going to provide details on the surrounding area with some history mixed in. This was purely a historical tour that did not leave the plaza area.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thanks for leaving a review. I would like to mention that the itinerary very clearly outlines what areas will be covered. It is a Old Town tour and we cover not just one plaza but all the major plazas in the old town- Schloss Platz, Theaterplatz, Zwinger, Neumarkt square, Procession of Princes and even walk into the Palace Courtyard if open.
Thomas_A, May 2026
On a rainy day, our guide, Christina, made the tour a terrific experience! She shared facts, history, and stories all mixed with humor. I highly recommed this tour while visiting Dresden to make any visit a memorable experience.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thanks and glad to hear the Christina helped to make your Dresden experience memorable!
Niveditha_M, May 2026
Loved this tour. It was my first day here in Dresden and this was probably the best tour I could’ve taken to get myself acquainted to the place and culture. It was a small group, so that helped, too. Christina is a great storyteller.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you for leaving a review. Christina will be so pleased to read this!
Helena_N, Apr 2026

Laura was a wonderful tour guide! So knowledgeable, interesting and kind. She was willing and able to answer all our questions and we learned so much about the history of Dresden. Definitely one of the best tours we’ve ever been on and we’ve taken many over the years!

It was a well spent money and we learned all about the history of town in 2 hours. The guide (Doris) was very nice and knowledgeable
Response from Host, Oct 2025

Martin_R, Sep 2025
Very good introduction to Dresden with an overview of history to modern day. Most major attractions were seen with guidance and recommendations on how to see others. Headsets were not provided so mad it difficult with our group of 15 to hear guide at times. Laura our guide was excellent. Perfect pace and very accommodating to all questions. Look forward to using this company again. Hopefully with Headsets if group is larger than 4
Susan_W, Sep 2025
Our tour was great and gave a good overview of old town Dresden. The only problem was we had around 18 people on our tour and it was very hard to hear Leo. It would have been much better if we could have heard him
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Thank you for appreciating our tour. I'm sorry you had some difficulty hearing Leo as the group consisted of 18 people. This happens only once or twice a year, because though we keep the groups at maximum 15, it so happens that sometimes a guest can't make it to a tour because of train delays or cancellations. In that case we try and accommodate them the next day.
Sherry_W, Sep 2025
Leo gave us a great tour with history and stories whist also showing his love for this city and all it stands for.
Susan_P, Sep 2025
This was a perfect walking tour of the historic sights in Dresden. Our guide, Leo, was friendly and knowledgeable. He knew so much about the city and told it in an interesting way. The pace was also good. There are some stairs, but the walking wasn’t too demanding for seniors, which I appreciated.
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Thank you for your review. I am sure guests wondering how demanding the walking is will find this information helpful.
Andrew_C, Aug 2025
Our first time in Dresden and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We recommend this tour to anyone interested in the history of Dresden.
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Thank you. I am pleased to her that Leo helped make your first time in Dresden special. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay
