This entire tour was amazing. Our driver was Earl and I can’t remember our guide’s name but they were both wonderful. We got plenty of time at each stop (gardens, champagne reef, the gorge and the hot springs.) Lunch was great and drinks were provided along the way. Guides were knowledgeable and provided assistance keeping everyone safe and able to enjoy each stop. Would book with the company again!

This crew made this day unforgettable. From the snorkeling and history to the dolphins playing Around the boat and the “jacuzzi”. Go Swim beside it though as the ocean floor is just as warm :) we had an amazing day!

Cruise Ship Passengers

Tonya_C, Mar 2026
Pros for us: - Boat pick up 10' from our ship. - The reef was alive and teaming with fish of all sizes & colors. - small group (6) on small boat - Crew (Jeff & Michael) provided a safe & fun tour We left the dock at 1pm and were back at 4pm.

Unexpected Special Service Handling

Robert_W, Feb 2026
This is one reputable tour operator.. and also a compliment to Viator. It’s rare that a traveler gets taken care of when you’re away from home. Our ship could not dock due to big waves. We had no choice but cancel 90 minutes ahead of our tour. We received complete understanding from tour operator and help cancelling without any pain. This is a honest good service and likely fabulous excursion.

Wiatukubuli Volcano Snorkeling trip problems

Saul_W, Jan 2026
We experienced a couple of problems with this tour. First, the tour was over an hour late. We arrived at the meeting point a few minutes early but did not find representatives of the tour company. They finally showed up about 20 minutes after the tour was scheduled to begin. Then we waited another 40 minutes to make the short walk to the boat to start the tour over an hour late. The trip out to the snorkeling site was nice and uneventful. The tour was a total of 8 people in our group, plus a safety swimmer/guide from the boat in the water. Little, if any, instruction as to where we were going to swim as given before entering the water. This tour is in open water over 10 feet deep, and there was some tidal current in the water which made swimming a bit more difficult. My problem occurred over half way into our swim when we encountered another larger tour of snorkelers who swam through our group. At this point, I somehow lost sight of our guide and ended up following the other group. Once I realized this, I started looking for our guide, but he was nowhere to be seen and our boat was quite a distance away. Fortunately, the other tour group was from the same company as ours, and their guide helped me back to our boat where I found our guide and the rest of our group on board. This is very bad form from a safety point of view. Our guide should not have gotten out of the water until all from our group were accounted for. This means that he was not able to keep track of all his people in the water. The lesson from this is that the safety swimmer/guide needs to constantly keep track of his group. He should wear something distinctive so that he would be easily recognizable in the water from other guides. And lastly, he should not leave the water until all of his group is accounted for. Beware of this tour unless you are an experienced swimmer/snorkeler.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Hello Saul, we were quite surprised by your recent review and the concerns you raised regarding your snorkeling trip with us. Upon hearing your feedback, we immediately consulted with your in-the-water guide and boat captain, who distinctly remembered you. It may be important to note that there is video footage from the event showing that you appeared to require assistance multiple times, despite repeatedly declining help from our guides. Our lead guide consistently offered you the use of a safety ring and even offered to tow you with it, as they observed you struggling to swim confidently. Each offer was declined. Interestingly, the next group entering the water from our company also included a guide who noticed your difficulties. This guide, too, extended help, which you declined, after which he chose to monitor your safety closely. Our guides are highly trained professionals, certified by multiple agencies in first aid and CPR, and skilled in recognizing signs of distress in swimmers. What adds to our concern is that your wife remained with her guide throughout the excursion and returned safely to the boat without issue. You, on the other hand, appeared confused and had noticeable trouble swimming. We fully understand that swimming abilities vary and that health conditions can impact one’s performance in the water. However, it remains unclear why you would refuse assistance from experienced guides dedicated to your safety and then express dissatisfaction with our service publicly on TripAdvisor. Our priority is always the safety and well-being of our guests, and we encourage open communication to resolve any concerns promptly and effectively.

Amazing! Book It!

Paula_P, Jan 2026
The best snorkle with Captain Beanz and Lee. Small group, just 6 on boat. Mr Beanz took is all around the reef, stopping for us to look at our pace. We saw three turtles, lots and lots of fish, experienced co2 “champagne” gas coming out of the reef, then moved on to a short drift snorkle. We were very close to where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean.. after the drift snorkel we moved on to the beach with the warm volcanic soaking pool. Some spots were very warm, and as you dig your hands in the gravel it is even warmer. This is also heated by the Chpagne bubbles. They were coming up all along the beach, not just in the warm pool. The beach shack there had drinks, snacks and other bathers, but we were the only ones in the pool. A group of schoolchildren were having an excursion there. A very colorful and unique beach. You will love this tour!

Champagne snorkel was simply amazing! Columns of bubbles, small and large (feel them on your face!) Our guide collected a tube of bubble water from the bottom, poured out on our hands, warm! Saw numerous varieties of fish, plus a Hawks bill turtle sleeping under a rock, and a Moray eel.

We recommend

We booked the snorkeling but had the chance to upgrade to Full Day and we enjoyed it a lot. We saw highlights and they took very good care of us.

Full Day in Dominica Tour Champagne Reef, Titou Gorge, Hot Springs, Waterfalls

Susan_B, Jan 2026
We are an active 'senior' couple on a Royal Cruise. Very, very easy to access the tour, at the end of the dock as we walked off the ship. We had worried a little about this, taking a 'non-Royal' excursion but the entire trip was amazing and the tour completely understood the needs of cruise passengers. Snorkeling cancelled so had a full day tour substituted and so glad we did it! After getting in the very comfortable van (this included not only us seniors but a younger couple with a 4 year old) we set off on our adventure. Champagne Reef. I read some reviews that it is hard to get from the road to the beach and then access the reef this way. My opinion - no problem getting down the hill to snorkel or into the water, but if help was needed the tour guides (2) were fabulous! (There are stone steps going down, but you can go slow) Freedom to swim + guides to provide educational information by our sides. Bubbles were cool .. and I found a baby Octopus! Turtles, fish, reefs and bubbles ... It did not feel like a commercial tour, I felt like I was experiencing "Dominica" in a pace that fit my physical capability (didn't feel tired, go at your own pace) with a sense of serenity gazing up at the foliage that meets the shore. It was mindfulness at it's best! Titou Gorge: I felt like I was in the jungle .. and this activity is in the water. Cold water yes ... ,but really not that bad and yes, you have a life preserver on. Important to know, you can 'swim in' and go only as far as you want to go and then swim out. Swimming out you are with the current ... Our two guides were in the water with us (8 : 2 ratio). One hangs back ... one goes first ... this way all can experience some of the 'feel' of a gorge without too much effort. For reference I was a strong swimmer in the past ... now at my age would not put myself in that category but also not anxious swimming. Toward the end of the gorge the current was strong (you need some excitement) and you are swimming against it but there are ties in the rock sides to rappel forward. Worked as a group ... Awesome, exciting .... did not have a camera in the gorge but wish I did. Felt 100% safe an absolute highlight of the tour. This place is so quiet and undeveloped that even if you wanted to just 'watch' at the beginning of the gorge, there are places to sit. And do some local 'shopping' (a few tables set up) for hand crafted jewelry .... I think that small group really makes a difference, would not want to be with a large crowd for this. Afterwards - Did a very easy hike to Trafalgar Falls and then to soak at Tia Hot Springs. Each 'event' was planned to do at your own speed or sit back and enjoy the beauty of Dominica and simply just 'be'. Best part was driving around in our 8 person van through the countryside of Dominica .. it was very comfortable and had AC. Had local sandwiches .... Guides responsible and aware of the need of cruise passengers to be back at the ship in a timely way. Dominca was amazing and if we went back this tour company would be the first I would call to plan an entire week's vacation around their tours. Guides were friendly, kind, easy to ask questions to and knew the island. If I could give 100 stars I would!

Highly recommended half day with a wonderful team on a beautiful island

So pleased we chose this excursion for our day in Dominica. We were put as ease with excellent communication in the weeks before the trip. The trip its self was a perfect way to see the best of the coastline by sea and enjoy some expertly guided snorkeling. Highly recommended.

Fantastic snorkel trip

Daniel_C, Nov 2025
Fantastic guides, great captain (not too bouncy for those of us with bad backs) and great circle experience. Seen the bubbles at Champagne. Reef was better than expected. Very cool that it’s the volcano letting off “steam”. Also really nice seeing the coral and fish.

Best Beautiful Snorkeling in Dominica

Sharon_G, Nov 2025
Tiffany was fantastic about staying in touch to keep us informed. Mikael & Lee were the BEST tour guides. Just 4 in our party so was like a private tour! Snorkeled in the gorgeous Champagne Bay In Dominica and 2 others. Mikael dove down and pointed things out then came up and told us all about them. Shared about the history of their country, the people and movie film locations. Would very highly recommend this tour and Waitukubuli Adventure Tour Company. We will definitely use them again when we return to Dominica! This was only my 2nd day ever being in ocean water and 2nd day ever trying to snorkel. Mikael was very helpful watching out for me and pulling me on his life ring when I was too tired and needed a break.

Snorkeling in Beautiful Dominica

Allison_L, Oct 2025
Booked last minute (night before cruise ship arrived to Dominica). Tiffany met me and my sister at the dock. She was very well organized and professional. Captain Jeff and Masai (spell?) were great! Took the tour in mid-October, shoulder season, so it was only 4 of us on the boat - so it almost felt like a private snorkeling excursion. They helped us see sea turtles, champagne reef, Scotts head, sunken cannon. Dominica is stunningly beautiful. Also spent about 30-45 min at bubble beach. Bubble beach isn’t fancy and didn’t have the resort feel that some tourist might want. But it was relaxing and the water really was warm. We did have to tip the bubble beach owner/operator a little bit to be there and use the chairs. We did $10 total and he was fine with that. I’d definitely recommend this excursion!

Good Crew and Interesting Snorkeling

Helpful crew guiding us to see interesting things. Very friendly. The final stop to the hot springs wasn’t great, but the time on the boat was.

Audra_E, Dec 2024
This was an incredible trip! Captain Jeff actually got in the water and swam with us. He would point out things I would have never seen myself! He knew so much about the island and taught us a lot. Taking the boat allowed us to see so much of the island. This trip was well worth the money and I would recommend to anyone who wants to snorkel on the island. Make sure you try the peanut punch!

Fantastic Day in Dominica

Cynthia_J, Dec 2024
Captain Jeff and his assistant were fantastic. One of our best snorkeling adventures ever. Educational and fun.

Best champagne ever!!

Darin_B, Nov 2024
We had an amazing trip. We were able turtles and whales in addtion to the great champagne reef. Make sure you go to the Bubble Beach spa. Captian and crew were extremely helpful and informative.

Beautiful day on the water….

Timothy_S, Nov 2024
Captain Jeff was great. Very relaxing and a beautiful day in the water. Great value for the experience.

Unique snorkeling experience

dlcdisneylover, Nov 2024
Excellent shore excursion. Only 6 of us on this trip. The captain and first mate provided exceptional service. The captain snorkeled with us and pointed out various sea life. The snorkeling was great-swimming in the bubbles surrounded by marine life and nice colored coral, After visiting a couple of snorkeling sport, we stopped at a small beach to enjoy the warm water from the volcanic activity. The trip was finished off with an excellent homemade run punch. When visiting this island again i would definitely report this shore excursion!

Definitely Worth Doing

Ronald_T, Oct 2024
Pros There were only five people on the tour. Very intimate. The guide was tremendous. Super informative and caring. He genuinely wanted everyone to have an amazing time. He was regularly pointing out really cool things like a sea turtle. We’ve been on numerous snorkeling trips throughout the Caribbean and this was one of the better reefs. Champagne beach was worth seeing. Thousands of bubbles from the underground volcano. Cons It was a little on the long side of actual snorkeling. Not necessarily a bad thing but you need to be at least a decent swimmer. Overall, I would highly recommend it.

Be careful booking with this company

Jaclyn_H, Sep 2024
Be careful booking with this company. What you see may not be what you get. If I could rate this a zero I would! They down sized the boat due to number of guests. It was down sized to an open bow with a fish deck in the back and tried to pass it off. We did not get on the boat nor take the excursion. When I contacted the operator, the response we degrading and unprofessional.

Response from Host, Sep 2024

I believe you have confused us with another company. Sorry for your experience. We always remain professional and informative at all times. Nonetheless, hope you all enjoyed the island.

Loved this

Ashley_B, Apr 2024
Captain Jeff was great, always catering to our needs. Our group was small (5 people including me) so it was basically a private tour. We snorkeled at two different spots - the coral was nice and there were many fish. The champagne area where bubbles came up from the ocean floor was really unique. Captain Jeff pointed out different types of coral and fish. Then, we went to a geothermal pool at bubble beach. It was low tide so we only wet our feet but it was lovely nonetheless. We had plenty of time to get in the water again at Bubble Beach to just enjoy the clear Dominica water. The over all the trip lasted a little over 4 hours and was well worth it.

Champagne beach is something unique

Amanda_W, Mar 2024
Swimming through the fizzy champagne bubbles was really cool! We saw lots of sea life at that stop. The other two stops were not interesting but taking the boat ride there was worth it , as there are lots of beautiful views of towns nestled between the volcanoes.

A Wonderful Overview of Dominica

Barbara_E, Feb 2024
My husband and I were originally just doing the snorkeling with the champagne bubbles, but we join four others to do a full tour of the city, and I’m so glad we did. I feel as if I got a great overview of Dominica while the cruise ship was in port. Tiffany was a fantastic host and tour guide. We started with snorkeling in the champagne bubbles. While Tiffany stay with our belongings, she had a guide take our group in the water. He pointed out different items in the water. We got to hold a short needle sea urchin and feel it suck our hands with its mouth. The guide brought up water from the bubbles and poured it in our hands to surprise us with just how warm the water was compared to the ocean water. While we walked in the water from the beach, the shore was rocky. But, we had help getting in and out. We were able to dame some local food and soft drinks for lunch. We also visited the scenic double waterfall Trafalgar Falls. But, my favorite stops were Titou Gorge, and the hot springs. Titou Gorge was swimming through moss and fern covered caves ending in a waterfall. I regret that I didn’t have my camera to capture its beauty. The hot springs were so relaxing and honestly made our skin so soft. Tiffany shared a taste of rum made from a fifty year old family recipe. Thank you, Tiffany, for a memorable experience and for all of your kindness in sharing your country with us! And she got us back to our ship on time!

Great excursion!

Jeff_C, Jan 2024
Tiffany was very nice to meet us and communicate prior to the meeting close to the cruise ship. Captain Bean was an excellent captain and snorkel guide. I am a scuba diver but had two friends who are new to snorkeling. Bean took very good care of them and was very attentive and informative. The snorkel at Champaign Reef is excellent. The stop at Bubbles Bar is very interesting. One of our best adventures ever!

A blast
