If guests arrive at the Roseau Bay Front we will meet you at the entrance to the Fort Young Hotel, which is across from the arrival port. If guests arrive at the Woodbridge Bay we pick up at the main (security) entrance gate. Guests are to remain inside the security area. If guests are on island and at another hotel, we can arrange a more convenient rendezvous.

Caribbean Cooking Class with Daria, Dominica - Our cooking experience with Chef Daria was so much fun. She was funny, warm, & very detailed in her explanation of all the different dishes & ingredients she had chosen for our cuisine. Even though we were a fairly large group (around 24) we were given the chance to assist her with the preparation of our delicious lunch. We would highly recommend this experience! I must also give a HUGE shoutout to Michael Eugene from Caribbean Cooking Class with Daria. Following our Cooking Class and back to our cruise ship at the port, I realized I left my small backpack (and cellphone) way up the mountain at Chef Daria's. Fortunately, I was able to contact Michael Eugene and explained about my missing backpack. He was willing to drive my pack to me at the port before we sailed. My hero!

The ride up to Daria’s place was interesting (very steep road) but once we got up there, we were amazed at how stunning the view was. Daria was passionate about her cooking and informative & very entertaining, too, as we prepared our delicious meal. I would totally recommend this excursion to anyone!

Daria and Michael were the ultimate hosts. From pick-up at the cruise port to returning to our ship at the end of the afternoon; we were treated like friends. We prepared some tasty dishes, using herbs and spices from Daria’s beautiful yard. This is a must do experience for foodies!

We were picked up on time at the meeting point and taken in a van on very narrow roads virtually straight up the mountainside. Daria and her assistants greeted us immediately and got us set up for the cooking. She had a few of us assist for various tasks and we went over the local vegetables, herbs, spices etc that we would be using. We made curry chicken, rice and plantains 3 ways. Great view of the ocean from there (and our ship that was anchored), 2 nice bathrooms available for us. Opportunity to purchase some products at the end. All in all a very nice way to spend several hours on Dominica. If your ship doesn't offer it, book it here for sure.

Flavorful meal

This was a great cooking class! We were picked up right at our cruise port in a van, went up a mountain to a beautiful open air kitchen overlooking the ocean. Daria offered a wonderful class where we learned about marinating meats and adding spices for a flavorful meal. Class participants volunteered to help prepare the amazing buffet lunch we all feasted on. I would highly recommend this class to anyone - beginning to advanced cooks!!

My Sister and I had a wonderful time with Daria. She is so kind and knowledgeable about all things Creole cuisine. We made curry chicken, pumpkin coconut rice, plantain fritters, and fried plantains. Everything was delicious! I highly recommend Cooking With Daria as a shore excursion.

Daria was a lovely teacher and we had a wonderful time. She gave us so many interesting facts about the local food and cooking tips. Everyone got to get involved and we had some delicious food at the end. The communal cooking area is so nice, lovely colours and beautiful view from the garden. It was so lovely to have Daria join us for the meal, as we got to chat about lots of things, including what life in Dominica is like. I personally wasn't feeling well at one point early on during the experience, and Daria very kindly let me lay down in a bedroom inside and even made sure I had a fan facing me, so I could feel better!

Lousy communication, confusion, and just standing there.

Horrible communication. We arrived at a port that was different than instructions indicated. Tried to get in contact via Viator and the Daria website. No response and phone number given was out of service. We made our way to the other cruise port and had to wait about an hour for someone to pick us up. BTW, 6of the 14 came from the same ship we came from and they all received correct instructions. Who knows why we didn't get those instructions. Really infuriating aspect- Even though transportation was included, the class started without us and we were left to "catch up". I'm a novice cook so I was pretty much lost. We were given aprons but One participant said it was more "watching Daria cook" than "cooking with Daria". Overall, not a good experience.

What a great experience. You have the opportunity to visit a truly wonderful person in their home and visit. Daria is simply amazing! Yes she is a great cook and the food is wonderful, class was great, but to me that was just an added bonus. Go visit her, you won’t be disappointed. Be sure to ask her about how she came to be doing this cooking class. It’s a wonderful story!

Daria’s class was THE BEST. She is so knowledgeable, personable, and hilarious. Food was excellent and I liked that everyone helped cook the main meal instead of preparing their own separate dishes - more things to try at the end!

Michael and Daria are awesome and provided a unique experience with amazing views. Michael picked us up and gave a brief intro about the cooking class and how they got started on the adventure. Upon arrival to their home, we were refreshed with golden apple and ginger juice! Then, Daria took over in the kitchen showing us how to make fresh coconut milk, rice and beans, curry chicken, and plantains 3 ways! Also intermingled in the cooking was an overview of the herbs used and medicinal benefits of spices. Plus some different ways to 'flavor' run. We had lovely conversation on the patio while enjoying the fruits of our labor with the 3 others who were there as well. This is by far, one of the best excursions I have ever taken!

Best Cooking Class

We absolutely loved this cooking class. Daria was so knowledgeable about the local herbs and spices actually showing us each of them and how to use them in Caribbean dishes. She is a force in the kitchen. Her love of cooking is contagious! I can’t wait to try making the delicious meals. The freshness and flavors merged perfectly. Daria and Michael have a beautiful home with amazing sea views where they will entertain you and teach you to cook the Caribbean way!
