Interesting trip to Goree island coupled with a brief city tour. Our guide Malang was very helpful and informative. He did a great job with the logistics and setting us up with a local guide on Goree island. He has some insightful thoughts on what it is like / what is happening Senegal today.

My partner and I had a very enjoyable and exciting experience. Our hosts, Lamine and Momodou were awesome - top marks for their service. We would definitely highly recommend them to anyone wishing to tour Dakar, visit Goreé. It is good value for money.

Ruined dream trip.

I can't recommend this tour company. They booked this tour even though the date was a bank holiday and nothing would be opened- no museums, no monuments. The easiest thing would be to rebook for another day but the guides showed up and didn't tell me the situation of it being a bank holiday until we had left my hotel- too late to reschedule. The guide acknowledged he should had said something before we left but opted not to. This company also left me stranded for another tour without notice. They never explained what happened. I wasted time and money. This was a special dream trip that was ruined.

Our guide Malang provided us with an excellent day. Regulations on our ship caused us a little delay, so we missed the first ferry to Goree Island. No worry, as Malang had us get our tickets stamped for the next ferry and showed us some Dakar sites instead of just waiting at the pier. Everywhere we went, people knew Malang. Highly recommend this tour!

Le site de l’île de Gorée...

Le site de l’île de Gorée était extraordinaire et émouvant. Malheureusement, notre guide n’avait pas de certification pour l’île…dès notre arrivée nous avons été accostés par un guide local qui nous a dit qu’il pourrait dénoncer notre guide aux policiers et que si on le payait 8000 Francs CFA, il agirait comme notre guide. Le guide de l’agence ayant les mains liées nous avons du suivre le guide local, totalement incompétent. Ses explications courtes comme « voici l’église » sans autre explications historiques ont grandement déçu alors que ce site est chargé d’histoire. Nous avons du insister pour prendre plus de temps nous permettant de prendre nos photos car nous étions bousculés par ce guide local. Cette situation semblait de l’arnaque et nous avons bien indiqué à notre guide de l’agence notre insatisfaction par rapport à cette situation.
