Being in Senegal for the first time, I did not know what to expect. However, Pape brought our trip alive with his excellent knowledge about Senegal specifically Goree Island, and other main attractions in the Dakar. I will definitely recommend him as a tour guide in the future to friends and also if I should come back to Senegal, I will definitely request him.

The guide picked up us at 8h30 and we came back at 5h30PM. We had a good lunch in a restaurant in Goree island. The guide had a very good knowledge of the historical évents. We recommend this tour.

GO! This trip was phenomenal. Pape is the kindest, funniest and the most knowledgeable guide I’ve ever encountered on any of my tours. The program is well planned, flexible enough so that it avoids the crowds and they make you feel safe and cared for entire time. Also, going to Goree island without guide doesn’t make any sense at all, so don’t make this mistake :D If you are short on time, this tour gives you pretty much 100% of Dakar and a lot of Senegalese culture and history :)

This is THE tour. Pape is the most incredible guide: he knows everyone, plans the day out intentionally, and is a great storyteller. If you want to see the real Dakar, plus cover the main sights, plus savour the island, I couldn’t think of a better way to do it. Great trip around Dakar and Gorée island. We saw the slaving houses and the museum with a frightful past - incredible that such a pretty place could have such a dark past. We also saw central Dakar and its main attractions. Lamine was an excellent guide - he even took us to the most Westerly point on the African continent. Thank you!

Pape does a great job with this tour, modifying it to avoid crowds where necessary and being very considerate of the customer’s needs, desires, and expectations. He is a wealth of information and is well-respected by very many of the locals we encountered. He and the tour got such good reviews that I suspected they might be false, but I now confirm the tour and Pape both deserve five stars. We had an absolutely fantastic experience on our day tour of Dakar and the boat trip to Gorée Island with our amazing guide Pape and our excellent driver Dam. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized and smooth. Pape was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and professional. He showed us all the main sights of Dakar, sharing fascinating insights into the city’s history and culture. The visit to Gorée Island was especially moving — Pape explained the history of the slave trade with such depth and sensitivity, helping us understand this important chapter in Senegal’s past. Our driver Dam was also great — always friendly, punctual, and made us feel safe throughout the day. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
