We had a wonderful time on our full day tour with Ophelia Tours in January 2026. The tour bus is very comfortable and our tour guide Kenneth was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We learnt a lot about Danish culture and history and saw the beautiful countryside, all in one day!

We do understand your disappointment regarding not being able to join the tour and we are sorry for your frustration. However, we must clarify the facts surrounding your booking:
Communication Issues
• Contact Information: The primary phone number you provided had insufficient credit, which meant our attempts to contact you regarding the tour were unsuccessful, and you did not receive our essential communication. While we do not cover personal mobile expenses, providing a working, contactable number is crucial for all bookings.
• WhatsApp: We regret that you did not use the WhatsApp contact information we provided prior to the tour. We only learned you had WhatsApp after you posted your initial review. Using this alternative communication method could have resolved the situation immediately.
Missed Pickup
• Our records indicate you left the designated pickup point without notifying us until approximately 15 minutes later, via the Viator messaging system. To ensure the smooth running of the tour for all guests, we operate according to a strict schedule and pickup policy.
Review Activity
We stand by the policies clearly outlined in our booking terms, which are necessary to manage our tours efficiently. While we sometimes make exceptions for customer service reasons, there must be a limit to deviations. We believe the reasons for your disappointment and subsequent inability to join the tour are related to the issues outlined above.

Thank you for your review.
I have just few comments;
- As you were the single customer for a Full-Day tour intended 16 travelers, would you ever think doing that tour if you were the operator?
- We cancel as soon as we see the problem. The day before we had 8 travelers, some amended their tours, some changed their plans.
So should we have canceled the 18th when we had 8 travelers?
- We surely understand the disappointment when things don't turn out as planned.
- Therefor we always offer alternative dates. If that is not suiting your travel plans, a full refund is of course in order.
All we do is following the information provide when you book the tour. In that information it clearly state that less then 6 traveler will likely course the tour to be cancelled. So for that reason it should not be a surprise.
- And you confirmed yourself that you were unable to attend the tour either of the alternative dates.
- So should we have kept you money and let you standing there on the tour date?

The whole tour was 10 stars! Simon our tour guide was the perfect guide. It was enlightening having an archeologist lead us through the castles and churches. Having just 12 people was the right amount.

Great all day tour of places we wanted to see outside of Copenhagen. Although there is a lot of walking and we were exhausted at the end of the day, the tour was very worthwhile. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed all of our stops. We definitely would recommend this tour.

This tour was excellent. I enjoyed seeing Kronborg and Fredericksburg. Simon was very informative and a terrific guide. He gave us a lot of good information about the various sites. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about Danish history and culture.

It was a very enjoyable experience and done at a comfortable pace with free time to explore. The tour is for history and culture buffs. It is too long for young children, except the Viking museum which has a hands on carpenter shop for kids to build a boat. The guide is key to your tour experience and we had Simon from Ophelia Tours, a trained archeologist with a keen knowledge of the sights, culture, and history. He was terrific.

Excellet tour. Every place worth visiting. Could easily spend more time at each attraction but can only do so much in a day! Guide Renee was excellent. Great commentary and kept the tour moving and interesting. Bus size and smaller group number was ideal, rather than a full size coach. Highly recommend this tour if you only have a few days in Denmark.

This was a fantastic tour. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and fun. My twin 16 year old boys and 12 year old all enjoyed learning so much about Denmark history. The van was very nice and comfortable. This was a wonderful experience for our entire family.

Bus malfunctioned blocks from our pickup hotel and we were stranded and on our own. No backup bus was offered.

Dear Robert,
Yes, that was an awful morning when the bus broke down during the pickups and it had to be towed to the workshop for repairs.
We are sincerely sorry for this, and it is highly unexpected, as we in our maintenance schedule get the fan belt replaced annually.
As the driver explained and also sent to you in a message, Sundays are the worst days this can happen on. As Denmark and Danish businesses are closed on Sundays, replacement buses are not easily booked.
From the driver, I was told that you all in the bus at that time were dropped off at the central station and all on the bus, given guidance on how to get to one of the sites using public transport.
Of course, it is all up to the individual traveler to use these options.
If we go along with your complaint about a backup bus.
Please think about how many backup airplanes, trains, buses, or limousines you would have been offered in the same situation. - Not a lot, I guess you will realize.
And if we were able to get a backup that morning. Such a vehicle is not parked in the center of Copenhagen, but 15-30km out of Copenhagen, thus the tour would have been reduced a lot. Skipping one or two sites to make it before closing time at other sites. Not a good option, and it was not possible either, as no companies for bus rental are open at 0830 Sunday morning.
Ophelia Tours is sorry for this disappointment and also that we were unable to offer the same tour on Monday, as the bus was at the workshop, and again rental companies did not open until after 0800 Monday, thus the tour would not have been able to be excecuted according to itenery, if a bus possibly would had been avaliable.
Tuesday was fully booked, so that was neither an alternative option.
Rest assured, this is not a success for Ophelia Tours to cancel tours. This is our income, so canceling all the way around for both travelers and the company is a loss.
On behalf of Ophelia Tours, I sincerely apologize for this disruption of your holiday plans.

This tour gave an excellent overview of Danish history and culture. Our guide Remi was very knowlegable and explained things clearly. Although we covered 4 major sites, we did not seem too rushed. Also our 5 grandchildren ages 6 to 14 years old all seemed to enjoy the trip.
