We very much enjoyed this excursion. The guide was nice and knowledgeable and the places we visited were wonderful. My only suggestion, a local boat captain is highly recommended, my husband and I were on a raft together with our kids and it was very hard for me to negotiate the rapids. We still had fun, but would have been much less stressful if we had a local on our raft. Would recommend!

A local captain is always an option, especially if you want to relax, and enjoy the scenery 😉. Some guests prefer the adventure of self piloting 🙃

Amazing adventure in the jungle

We had a great day together with Phil. Tour organisation was perfect, we saw places we would never had seen without Phil. Just bring a few dry extra-clothes, sun screen and good mood! Phil took care of water bottles and you can leave your belongings in the car. In the morning we were picked up in Chiang Mai and Phil drove us to bamboo rafting in the jungle, approximately 1h away. You can choose between being your own captain or relaxing on the raft while being guided by a captain. We decided to steer our rafts by ourselves and needed a couple of minutes to get used to the raft and had some balance issues in the beginning. But then we just had an amazing journey down the river, passing jungle-nature and bathing elephants and some rapids. You can use life vests if you want. After this great adventure we enjoyed an extremely good lunch at a nearby, local place, with a great view. We then headed to a hidden waterfall, where Phil showed us a fantastic swimming-place next to the waterfall. After this we visited another waterfall, where Phil showed us, how to get behind the waterfall. While in Chiang Mai you definitely should book this tour, it was a great trip and he was a perfect guide! Thanks, Phil! Iris, Sebastian and Konstantin
