It was a small group, maybe 12 people, it was great! Very informative and a good pace, Phuc was a great guide!

A generally mid trip with multiple dishonest moments and bad communciation

TLDR; I was expecting a bit more for the price honestly. Generally the trip was kinda mid (which would earn them 4 stars), but there were also quite a few dishonest moments (hence the low rating) which could have easily been solved with proper communication and setting the expectations correctly. The weather was cloudy but at least there were not too many tourist boats around. We had a few hours of going around the bay, and had the chance to take a swim (they even offered towels - nice). Then, there was some kind of mix-up with the kayaks so we went for the bike ride first. 6kms, nice scenery and nature; I quite enjoyed it after sitting on the boat for a few hours. After the ride we had lunch on the boat. Unfortunately, this was the first big letdown of the trip, as we were all expecting different kinds of dishes made from local fish (because the itinerary kind of hypes it all up). Regarding the proteins we got plain breaded and fried fish and only chicken and tofu besides that - no other seafood. Maybe the fried spring rolls had some shrimp in it, but if noone from the table could taste the shrimp, does it really matter? 😅 After lunch we went for the kayaking, which I reckon was some kind of backup location (due to the earlier mixup) because we did not get to explore the 3 tunnels or saltwater lakes the itinerary mentions: "you will kayak through three tunnels (Mekong Cave), discovering three beautiful saltwater lakes with a unique ecosystem". Again, I felt it could've been handled better with proper communication towards the guests. We completely skipped the Ba Men temple, which was another big letdown for me as I was looking forward to it. Our tour guide said that for environmental reasons they do not visit it anymore. I felt that keeping it in the tour description is very dishonest if it is not part of the official itinerary anymore. Unfortunately, our last stop - the Monkey Island - still had a final catch. For those not wanting to swim to the island (which was basically all but one guest) we could take a taxi boat. However, it did cost an extra 15k vnd per person (it was not a tip but the fee). I understand it's pocket change, but if the tour description says "All Fees and Taxes included" then I expect exactly that - to have everything included. Again, super dishonest. I genuinely feel sorry for our guide because he was a really nice bloke, but the dishonesty and lack of communication made this experience quite a negative one; Even though it could have been a chill "4 star" day trip.
