Itinerary
Meet your vehicle outside your Cape Town city center hotel and drive straight to the base of Table Mountain. Ride the cable car (own expense) to the top of the mountain, and then enjoy some free time on the mountain top to take in the views of the city below, of Robben Island in the distance and of the mountains that extend inland.
Descend from Table Mountain via the round-trip ticket you purchased for the cable car, and meet your guide to begin your tour of Cape Town’s highlights. Climb into a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle and drive past main sights as well as some less-well-known places in the historic city. Visit the colorful Bo-Kaap neighborhood (also called the Malay Quarter) and hear stories about the Cape Malay slaves of the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as their descendants who built this district.
If time permits, pay a visit to the Castle of Good Hope - one of the oldest buildings in the whole country of South Africa - to follow your guide into its dungeons. Finish your tour with a stop at Diamond Works to tour the factory and hear about South African jewelry. At the end of the tour, you’ll be transported back to your Cape Town hotel.

- After purchasing this tour, please buy your cableway ticket
- if the waiting period at the lower cable way station is in excess of 2 hours or more over the Peak Season (Oct - Jan), the tour will start with a City Orientation tour after which the guide will suggest to either drop guests off at the Lower cable way station and guests can then proceed up the mountain, alternatively guests will be dropped off back at there hotel.
- Should guests decide to be dropped off at the Lower cable way station, guests would then need to make own way back to there hotel.
- Guests will be contacted the day prior with collection time.
- Should we receive a booking with no pick up and drop details, guests are requested to contact the office, 48 hours prior to tour departure date. failure to provide us with pick up and drop off details, will result guest not receiving a pick up time and missing the tour and no refund will be provided.
- The Cable Way Ticket is for guests own account.
- Table Mountain Annual maintenance will take place from 28 July 2025 - 03 August 2025 (The Cableway will re-open on the 4 August 2025. Weather permitting). During this period the tour will stop at Signal Hill instead.
- If guests are making their own way to a listed pick-up point, they need to allow sufficient travelling time (ie... traffic delays etc...) in order to arrive at the pickup point in time for collection.
- Should guests not arrive by the scheduled departure time, the tour will depart and no refunds will be given.
- It is compulsory that guests contact us 48 hours prior to tour departure to re-confirm pick up and drop off details. Should clients not make contact with us by 48 hours prior to travel date, the booking will automatically be cancelled.

- When more than one person is travelling – we require names and last names of all guests travelling (reason being if tour booking is made with one person and the hotel reservation is made under another, we will be informed by the hotel that there ais nobody by that name at the hotel which will result in delays and could cause the guests to miss the tour).
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 12 travelers

The driver/guide was attentive, engaging, considerate, and full of information during this afternoon tour. A general tour of the city areas with a stroll around Bo-Kaap & then on to Table Mountain. Taking the option for the inclusive cable car ticket made the process simple when we arrived, although on our day the queues were not bad the previous day had been over an hour.

Unable to visit table mountain due to weather conditions. This company have denied paying me a refund as they stated I could have used the ticket within 7 days . Well we live in London so didn’t have 7 days at our disposal. Plus table mountain was closed on the other occasion we tried to visit the very next day

Not too much to say. Saw what I wanted to see. I wasn’t happy that the people who booked this tour canceled and I was the only one. It’s always nice to be with others. But I had private tour.

Hamilton was brilliant. We were lucky enough to share his vehicle with just one other couple. He really took great care of us and I only feel bad that we were to call him Hamilton because we could not say his given name. The only wish I have is that we could have had more time at Table mountain, we went up with prepaid tickets but had less than 20 minutes as we had to be back down in time to leave. Total time time at Table Mountain was only 75 minutes, not enough time to see anything because we had to jump back up into the line to get back down.

Lovely and peaceful on the top of the mountain, took nearly an hour queuing. Could be an issue with the timings if some in the group wanted to do the longer walk. Drive afterwards was just getting a feel for Cape Town, more of a time filler, using the red tour bus would have been just as good.

This tour was decent but not great. We also did not get to go to table Mountain because of the wind which is not the guides fault. We really didn’t see all that much and what we did see wasn’t really of interest. The guide was knowledgeable Though. We would’ve rather spent more time in the neighborhoods or markets and the waterfront.

About table mountain I don't want to lie I didn't go there because of strong winds and was suspended. The following day I insisted to go there I got no help they come up with excuses which leads me to request a refund.im so disappointed on that

The Table Mountain cableway ticket is not included in the tour price. Therefore, the tour of the city continues unaffected when the cableway is closed due to adverse weather conditions. Should guests want to return to Table Mountain the following day to use the cableway, transport would be for their own account to and from Table Mountain, as the tour was completed in full the previous day.

Cable car was closed unfortunately so we ended up doing a rather simple tour with a nice fellow driver but who barely told us anything interesting. Probably one of the lowest value tours i have ever had :(

The heading of this services states "Table mountain" (depicting a picture of the cable car ride up to the table mountain) "and half day trip around cape town".
They charge you 1140 ZAR to drive you to the parking of table mountain where you need to pay the actual guys to go up table mountain with the the cable car. The tour guide doesn't go with you or anything. You go by yourself while they wait in the car and then limit you to about 1 hour to explore the entire mountain and hurry back to the parking where they drive you around the city.
As soon as my wife and I realized this we tried to cancel the trip within the first 10 minutes. We then contacted the agency with our complaint and departed. Neither Viator or Cullinan Guided Journey accepted the fact that we wanted to cancel our trip and refused to refund the money for this trip that we did not go on. Total scam. Don't waste your money.

The information about what’s included in the tour is detailed under the tour description on the Viator website, where you booked the tour. As you cancelled the tour, whilst being on the tour, we are unfortunately not able to extend a refund.

This trip is an absolute must. The sights are amazing and the views from the cable car and the top of Table Mountain are absolutely spectacular. Be sure to pre-book your tickets as waiting times can be long. Highly recommended.

This tour is not worth the money. After the driver picked up from hotel, the Cape Town tour consist of driving from hotel to the Table Mountain. Since there is a long wait closed to 1.5 hrs o take the cable car up the mountain and then you stay on top of the mountain for another hour, there is no time left for the city tour itself. It is better to buy the hop on and off bus ticket and use this bus go to the Table mountain Instead.

Great time, guide was funny and knowledgeable about the area! The view is must a see and you will see a beautiful view of Cape Town as long as the weather is good. Great spot for pictures and you get to see a few other sites in the area per the itinerary.

We did this trip in February and it was a great way to see some of the Capes highlight in a single day. Ian was our guide and he was good fun to be around and very informative. What was really great is that he only takes small groups, we had four in ours so you get to do things at your own pace and he will adjust the tour if you want to spend longer or less in any one place. Highly recommended....
