If you can time this with the market on Sunday, you should, as it’ll give a true view of the market and liveliness of San Telmo. Our guide Juan was very knowledgeable, passionate and enthusiastic and gave us lots of information on history and culture.

Great guides! Tired them last year as well while I was visiting Buenos Aires in February 2024 (took the La Boca / Caminito guided tour). Juan was a perfect guide - energetic, enthusiastic and funny. He gave lots of wonderful information and even provided extra tips for restaurants at the end. It is worth seeing this area and learning about the culture. Worth sticking around for lunch and walking around on your own after.

The tour was a great value. The stops were interesting and the two hours went by quickly as our guide, Juan, had lots of information and was a great storyteller. He was very easy to understand and used a small speaker and microphone so the entire group could hear. The Sunday antique fair in San Telmo was cool and we bought several gifts for family including an old license plate and international currencies.

San Telmo in heavy rain 😳

Our guide was good at managing a group in varying states of preparedness for the heavy rain we experienced during the entire tour. This was the day after a very severe wind and rain storm, so the outdoor market was only partially open. Interesting history of the area.

Matthias M. was our guide. I would say the most memorable moments came with his narration of the history of the city of Buenos Aires in various points. He was masterful in weaving in elements across time and moving from political events to cultural aspects. I really enjoyed how he brought places to life in another time, helping me imagine what it was like and why the decision-makers of the time made the choices that they did. Excellent historical guide!
