Definitely recommend everyone take advantage of this adventure. It’s a great way to see the mountains and the Bow River. The tour guides and crew at the stables are knowledgeable, friendly, and experienced. Fine for non-experienced riders.

This was a great experience for inexperienced riders. The horses were very behaved and easily handled. The guides were very attentive and made sure everyone was safe and enjoying themselves.
The trail was beautiful as well!

This was by far the biggest highlight of our trip to Banff! We had two guides, one leading the front and one in the back of the line. They were knowledgeable, funny, and made us feel safe the entire time. This is a must-do for anyone’s visit!
A few notes:
(1) If possible, plan to take an epsom salt bath or get a massage after. You’ll definitely be sore if you’re new to horseback riding!
(2) Bring Canadian cash with you to tip the guides after. They’re incredible and deserve it!
(3) My only suggestion for improvement is if they can offer to take a photo of you on the horse while on the trail with the amazing views in the background. They did offer to take a photo at the end of the trip which was already a nice touch!
If you’re nervous, do yourself a favor and book it! You won’t regret it!

Great for novice rider. Walk only which they don't really advertise. I would have appreciated the opportunity to at least trot a bit. Horses should be trained so you can stop for a minute and take a pic of the views. Disappointed there was no view at the top of Sulphur Mountain, it was just a trek up and back down in the forest. Front tour guide tries to talk/explain but I was toward the back of a full ride and couldn't hear a thing she said. Otherwise, this is a professionally run organization. Horses were great. They know what they are doing and are very good with older riders and novice riders.

Very nice horses. But 12 people in a row is just too many. Not possible to hear anything that the guide said😔

The horses were so well trained, gentle, and sure/footed on my 2.5 hr ride. We began on level trails and then went up the mountain trails in Banff Park in the Bow Valley. Guides were amazing! Loved every minute.

The guides were awesome, they were so informative and friendly. The horses were so well behaved and cared for. The ride was a perfect amount of time, and we had beautiful views of the mountains and the Bow River.

This was a great activity for everyone in our group - kids and adults. The guides were great and knowledgeable, the horses were well trained, and the scenery was spectacular! I would definitely recommend for anyone looking to get out into nature a bit more while in Banff.

VERY muddy trails which horses did not like. Trail guides were very nice but you could not hear lead guide. Scenery lovely. Horses were sweet and appeared healthy but had not seen a good grooming in what seemed to be a long time which matters as a horse owner. Good experience overall and would recommend especially for beginners.

Horseback riding in a beautiful setting in Banff. The horses were easy to ride and it seems they are treated very well. The guides were nice, helpful and told us a lot about the area along the way.

Everyone was so kind and friendly! The guides were able to tell us about the land as we ride through as well!

The trip was great. We enjoyed the time we got riding around the mountains and the views were amazing. Our guides were very well educated. It would’ve been a five but I have to go with a four only because we’ve done so many of these rides and we NEVER get to cantor, trot, etc…if nothing else give me a quick trot through a meadow or at the ranch itself and the experience would have been great!

What a great way to spend my birthday! Guides were amazing - friendly and knowledgeable. A great way to see the views of the area where the cars cant go!
Laura_Y, Aug 2024
The young lady giving riding directions was a sourpuss-she acted like she hated her job and the guests. Maybe she’s been dealing with tourists for too long, but hey, it’s her job, and it tinged the whole experience. Some advice: smile once in a while and fake it, you’re in the hospitality industry.
Our two ride guides were more personable, but we were too far back in line to hear any of the lead guide’s commentary for most of the ride.
The horses were beautiful, well trained animals.

Riding in the Rockies is a definite bucket list moment. The guides are excellent and very informative during ride. A huge shoutout to Jess. Can’t recommend them enough

it was a good trip for my family, we could enjoy the horseback riding and scenary. but 2 hours felt little bit too long because most of time we walked slowly.

Excellent trail guides. Knowledgeable, entertaining and safety focused. Definitely recommend if you want to see things from horseback.

I did not get to go , made mistake and they couldn’t work us in … extremely disappointed .. wouldn’t try to get us in next day … 250 down the drain

We did the two-hour loop. The guides were very professional and friendly, the horses were great, and there were wonderful views of the bow river and the mountains.

Our family really enjoyed the 2 hour trail ride. We got to explore different areas of Banff National Park through remote areas. The horses are very experienced and the company is very professional. We loved our trip with Banff Trail riders.
Wendy_H, Jul 2024
It was nice to be on a horse. The guides were knowledgeable and gave us good information as we rode along.
katey_G, Jul 2024
Nice gentle horses and very easy ride. 1 hour probably enough if not a regular rider! Be aware of the weight restrictions as one of our party was not allowed to ride ans just over and no refund.
Coleen_N, Jul 2024
This was an excellent experience. We did think 2 hours was a little long, especially since it was all a walking trail. Perhaps if we could have trotted a bit that would have changed things up a little.
The other thing was for anyone in the middle of the line, we could not hear a word the guide at the front or the back was saying. Hearing about some of the things we were seeing would have been nice. Also, I believe there should be more conversation about individual experience with horseback riding to better pair the horses to the rider. My gf got a very aggressive horse (Houston) that was behind me and my horse, Cree, and bit him a couple of times. That caused Cree to react in ways I didn’t feel comfortable handling. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience.
