We booked the 4 day (3 night) safari during the dry season and we had a wonderful experience. The safari itself was amazing. The sights were incredible and we got to see all pf the big five game animals. As for the accommodations, I didn’t have any problems, but manage your expectations. You’ll be camping in tents, so it can be pretty uncomfortable. We were given small cots and sleeping bags but no pillows. Some of the other passengers who were traveling with us clearly didn’t expect this and complained. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable… up until the very end when they demanded we tip significantly more than what we were willing to give. Keep in mind, tipping is not required in any form or capacity. It’s completely optional. The staff didn’t even mention anything about it until they dropped us off. Yet, they argued with us at the hotel for about 45 minutes and wouldn’t leave, insisting we give a higher tip and that it was required. Keep in mind, the staff already gets paid from the payment for the safari itself. We later got an apology from the tour operator for their behaviour and we didn’t end up tipping at all. Overall, I still really loved my experience and I highly recommend this tour. The 4-day structure is ideal for the safari in my opinion, since it lets you see everything without overstaying it’s welcome. Just be prepared for the aforementioned and you’ll be fine.
