Xander was an outstanding guide. So personable and knowledgeable about his island and water. I loved every minute of this tour. Even with a bit of wind, it was a great paddle. Great snorkeling location and I was so glad to do this as a guided tour with all the great information instead of stumbling though on my own. Thanks, Xander!

Not impressed. Tour guide showed up 20 min late with no message. Another guy that worked there for the rentals had to call him. He showed up tired, yawning and no enthusiasm. We were told what was provided dry bag and water and we got neither. We shared his dry bag or another guys bag. He didn’t bring snorkel gear nor did the site say we needed to bring our own. We still have not received any pictures he took for us. We also walked back. Two of us was told if you want to paddle back he wasn’t going to and we could do it on our own. We were not told about any stops we stopped at and he kept saying go ahead I will meet you. Well where are you meeting us, we asked. He was always behind us. Not a great experience for our first time in Aruba trying to do something we enjoy , kayaking. We could of just rented and do it all on our own. Nice guy but definitely needs to be more enthusiastic and make it enjoyable then him tired and on his phone.

This review is a duplicate of your previous post regarding the same tour and situation. As previously stated, the tour was not ended early by us. You were not forced to leave. Guests are welcome to remain on the island and continue exploring if they choose. The guide did not remove you or cut the experience short. We have already addressed these claims directly and stand by our response.

The ocean was choppy with high winds. The kayaking was enjoyable and manageable. The snorkeling location we paddled to was rough with the winds, waves, and current. Strong swimmers or snorkelers had a great time with lots to see. Those of us who were newer to snorkeling and not strong swimmers found it quite challenging. Our guide Richard was great and quite accommodating. Unfortunately, a far more suitable place to snorkel was closer to the beach. We discovered this spot after we were done. I’d highly recommend considering going there in place of or in addition as part of the experience.

We were disappointed with this experience. Our guide, Richard, was nice, but there was no 'guiding'. We waited over 30 minutes for the session to start, with no explanation provided (it turned out we were waiting for the kayaks to be delivered to the beach). Once we did make it onto the water, our guide simply accompanied us, mainly in silence, as we paddled along the shore and back. He said this was only his third session, so we assume he was still learning and finding his way, but we expected more. Once we returned to the beach, we declined the opportunity to take part in the snorkelling (as did the other people taking part) as we were on a tight schedule. With a more experienced guide, maybe we would have had a better time. But to be honest, it felt like we simply hired a kayak at a premium price.

He has completed this tour before and has been fully trained; he was not finding his way. His calm, low-pressure style is meant to make guests feel comfortable while enjoying the paddle rather than feeling over-guided. It’s also worth noting that the snorkeling portion is truly the highlight of the Mangel Halto tour, and by needing to skip it due to your schedule, your group unfortunately missed what many guests consider the best part of the experience. We appreciate your feedback and hope you still enjoyed parts of the outing and the rest of your time in Aruba.

They texted us to change the time from 1 to 3 and then no one was there to meet us. We tried t.o communicate by text and e mail and never got a response . Terrible comp6. Wasted a whole day of our vacation and lost all the money. DONT USE THEM

The tour guide and the other participants waited while we attempted to locate you. We called the number on file but received no answer. A full refund was already issued through Viator for your booking right away on the same day! We also recommend that travelers have a travel pass or phone data available when leaving the resort for excursions, especially if pick-up and drop-off are not included. This helps ensure smooth communication in cases where guests are running late or need assistance finding the meeting point.
