Fantastic scenery

HelgeFrank_D, Dec 2024
Great experience, the colca canyon offers a fantastic scenery. We saw some condors along the way, too. The hike is quite challenging, especially on the second day - it's going 1200 altitude meters up. Planning was good, everything was taken care of, for example the transport of our luggage and the transfer to Puno (we had to change busses). The included food was okay, but not great. Same for the accomodation: Oasis ecolodge was a little shabby. But for one night it was ok.

Massively overpriced if you book online

Rene_G, Jan 2024
Booked this tour online, only to learn on the tour that everybody else just booked at the local office in Arequipa and paid literally LESS THAN HALF of what we did. Viator will not honor their "Lowest Price Guarantee" for various shady reasons (e.g. they do not accept photos of the other participants' tickets as proof because the price is stated in Peruvian Soles... yeah well, of course, they booked locally and paid in the local currency). So, buyers beware: If you absolutely have to book on Viator, make sure to always choose the local currency for payments and be prepared to be massively overcharged.

Amazing tracking but not a easy one

MariaAngelica_d, Nov 2019
The treck is very nice but bit demanding under the sun. Services are basic: no hot water. The oasis is comfortable and beautiful but accommodations offer only the basics. Home cooked lunch in a local family house was tasty , the natural juices are always fresh and delicious. The way up (950m up) is demanding so don't take too much in your backpack.
