Our guide JJ (Juan Jesus) was excellent, very informative and could answer our many questions about culture, religion and local history. The stops were interesting and it was a good way to see outside Antigua and see more of the local Guatemalan people and landscape.

This was an amazing tour that took you into the Hart of several villages around Antigua and showed you authentic Mayan cultural history from a school that teaches children to weaving as well as a macadamia Farm, Jade jewelry making, wine making and chocolate. What really made the tour was our guide Juan Jesus who was very knowledgeable about the culture and the history of the places we visited. He also had an awesome personality.

First of all, it is not a real "chicken bus". It is real in the fact that it is a colorfully decorated bus, but it is for the exclusive use of the tour, so it isn't like you will be interacting with the locals, which I found to be disappointing.
The tourguide was fantastic. His English was top-notch, and he gave a lot of history and cultural background.
We visited a couple of places, saw them make chocolate, saw some great views, went to a Macamia plantation, which was pretty cool.
In all, I am glad I went, but the fake chicken bus thing disappointed as I was hoping to get a taste of local flavor.

We appreciate so much your experience insight, we value and respect your view. Regarding the chicken bus you jumped in is actually a real chicken bus, it was used between villages but now we use it exclusively for our travelers, even when is true that you don’t share with locals in the bus there is no route that connects all the villages we visit so we are kind of forced to do it the way it is, otherwise we will spent 25 minutes only catching up 1 village.
We are grateful to know you enjoyed the main purpose of our villages tour, the local families, their lifestyle, we (Guatemalans) are very hardworking people and our cultural heritage survives thanks to this particularity.

Totally enjoyed the entire excursion! Estafan was an incredible guide. His English and Spanish were perfect. He was full of information about the Guatemalan culture and history. He and his driver Antonio were so kind, courteous and perfect gentleman. We so much enjoyed the time spend and learnings associated with this trip. Gave us a great perspective on the villages surrounding Antigua that support the former capital.

We had the honour of touring with Felix. He was so knowledgeable, informative, engaging and fun. He shared the history of the towns we visited, local fun facts, information regarding things unique to the villages, tours of a coffee house with samples, a chocolate factory with samples and an area where textiles were hand made and sold. We have been on many tours, I don’t think anyone could top the professionalism and knowledge of Felix.

Our tour guide, JJ, was incredible! We were supposed to be with 2 other people who didn't show up, so we ended up having a private tour and it was easily one of the best excursions we took during our time here in Guatemala. JJ is extremely knowledgeable and SO passionate about Guatemala and Antigua. He went out of his way to curate the tour for us and even pulled over to let us have an impromptu snack (grilled street corn). I cannot recommend this tour enough—we have an amazing time, and we loved every second. Matyox, JJ! :)

This tour is amazing!! Our guide JJ and driver Esteban were funny and informative. Absolutely a top highlight of my trip to Antigua. You get to see some of the surrounding towns and visit local shops and support small businesses! I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Antigua. It was a blast and really cool to learn about the chicken buses and culture of the city.

We had an amazing time with JJ going to the local villages seeing how they made chocolate, local amazing wine, Jade merchandise, and grew macadamia nuts. He showed us around the villages outside of Antigua and shared the fascinating history of Guatemala. If you're going to Guatemala we highly recommend doing the chicken bus tour. It's a great way to see the area like a local.

This was one of the many highlights of our trip to Guatemala!
We had Esteban and JJ as our tour guides. They were exceptional; a gregarious duo that ensured we were enjoying every moment of the tour.
Before our arrival at the office, I had to message the company to inform them we would be a little late. We ran about 5 minutes late and it was as if we were on time. The greeting, the information, the jokes, the accommodativeness 10/10. We had not eaten and Esteban offered to stop at a Deli and we had empanadas, coffee, and tea. He offered to take our photos and even suggested lunch spots. At the end, we even got dropped off at our preferred location instead of back at the office. We could not ask for a better excursion experience in GUA.

Tour includes places that you would not find on your own. Diego is an amazing guide who knows his town well and shares his love of the artists and the people. When we come back with our whole family we will definitely request him again. Driver is safe and courteous. Much more comfortable than the average chicken bus. Casual pace but you go to many places. No pressure to purchase anything but you will love everything you see.

We cannot rave enough about this tour! Felix took us all over the place and gave us the most perfect comprehensive Guatemalan experience. We have been here several days now and have completed multiple tours, and everyone (especially the kids) still agree this was our favorite.
