Our base is “Geiranger Brygge” located in the midle of the old boathouses down by the Fjord in the heart of Geiranger. This is only a 100 meters walk from the cruise dock. Please meet us here 15 minutes before departure.

It gets very cold and windy. The scenery is exceptional. Our captain is Mario and he indeed was super careful. I would recommend this tour to all who come to Geiranger. You got to see the seven sister water falls up close and personal.

An amazing experience, excellent guide. Best vantage point to see the majesty of the fjords. Stayed warm and dry on a cold and drizzly day. Highly recommend!
Great RIB boat ride to see some of the treasures in Gieranger fiord. The tour guide gave us a fun ride as well as lots of information. Staff was helpful in getting suited up for the trip. Thanks

This was the perfect way to see the inside of a very beautiful fjord! Mario was an excellent guide and boat driver. It was a small group of about 10 people and easy on the scale of activity. We saw waterfalls everywhere on both sides of the fjord.
The tour started conveniently right outside of our cruise ship. It was more reasonably priced than the same tour offered on the boat. We like using Viator for shore excursions when possible.
This was a fun, fast paced tour. Our guide was great, very friendly and informative. They provided gear for the rainy weather and we felt very safe throughout.
10/10 experience. We've taken bigger boat cruises across fjords/sounds before and the RIB boat tour offers a much more personalized, upclose and adrenaline pumping option. Some of the reviews had mentioned getting wet and dressing very warmly, we travelled at the end of July and didnt have any of those issues. The tour company offers a full body dry suit that covers you from head to toe, you go close to the water but not close enough where water will splash in your face and the head cover offers protection against direct wind in your ears. Ladies, tie your hair because it will be windy!

Fabulous excursion! Loved our RIB boat driver! Very well organized tour. Only suggestion is for Viator to be more clear on where to go to get to the excursion. We had to ask at the visitor center. There are no signs to indicate it is a Viator excursion.
This was a wonderful experience. Don't meet at the troll statue, just go to the address on the reservation.

The guide was good and gear was great to keep us warm and dry; it did rain on us. But still overall a great trip.
The excursion itself was amazing. However, Viator needs to update where they have people wait for the excursion. Viator very clearly said to wait by the Troll 100 meters from the cruise dock. My family and a few others waited there for 10 am as instructed.
No one ever came. We had to ask several
People and finally found the excursion provider, who had marked us as no shows at this point. The excursion provider rebooked us for an afternoon time slot. It started out rocky thanks to Viator, but the excursion was amazing. Professional, informative, fun, and an incredible experience.
This RIB excursion was a highlight for my family on our Fjord cruise. The landscape is breathtaking, and the feeling of wind in your face and hair when at speed is exhilarating. My two young girls (8 and 10) had huge grins the whole time. Great and professional crew, and conveniently located within easy walking distance of the dock—I could not recommend this highly enough.
Very well organised, brilliant skipper, great way to see the fjords and waterfalls! Just wish it had been longer and faster as it was so much fun!
This was a fantastic tour ,from check in where Maria was such a big help to the cruise itself . Smooth ride ,got real close to waterfalls without getting wet . Feel it’s much better than taking the traditional cruises. Recommend getting there half hour early to park car , find the Geiranger Brygge store where you wear your suit and life jacket . We reached late and were put on the next boat half hour later.
What a fun way to explore the fjords! You get a different prospective being on the water than a few decks up on your cruise ship. The tour left on time and was an easy walk from the cruise ship port. The ride was exhilarating, while still mellow enough for my older parents to enjoy it.
We had a beautiful day to be on the water in May 2026. The views were fabulous and we had time to take pictures. We sat near the front and didn’t think it was too bumpy. Highly recommended.
Lots of fun but dress warmly! Also, on our Viator app it told us to meet at the troll statue but we were actually supposed to meet in the little village at the RIB boat location. Good thing we were early so my husband ran over to check and that’s when we found out we had the wrong location for our meeting place. It was fine though! We got there in time!
Our driver Super Mario was great and gave us lots of interesting information and history about how people have survived and lived along the fjords.
We had winter jackets, hats and gloves and they provided big snow/wet suits to put over our clothes. This kept us warm but admittedly, our faces were very cold and our hats were almost flying off our heads and we had to hold onto them with one hand. Wear a scarf that covers your face all the way up to your eyes. You will be glad you did! It was fun though and worth getting a little chilly! 🥶
Excellent experience overall! The guide was incredibly friendly and helpful, making everything smooth and enjoyable. It was a bit cold, but the guide thoughtfully provided a neck warmer, which turned out to be very handy. Highly appreciated!

Great views of the fjords! This is an experience not to be missed. Our guide was very knowledgable. Probably one of the best excursions we have done.
It was ok. Area was beautiful, but our guide only gave a little info. Seemed like he would rather be anywhere else. Would maybe do again if with different guide. Maybe more fun.

Nice tour guide and ok experience, but not worth the cost. We did this tour on our own from cruise ship dock day and the views were better from the ship than the ones we got on the tour. Didn't feel like the guide helped for all guests on the boat to get the views advertised on the listing. (We were seated in back row of the boat.) Underwhelming and disappointing. Water levels were low so maybe that was part of it. Experienced the tour in late August 2025.
We thoroughly enjoyed this ride in the RIB. Not much can go wrong when the scenery is that magical - being on the fjord, up close and personal was wonderful.
We went straight to the boats, completely missed the meeting place, so watch out for that.
Wonderful trip along the fjord. Be prepared to seat like in a saddle. You get waterproof/windproof gear, but it you don't get splashed (more to protect you from rain). It was a great experience.
The fjord is beautiful, but our funny friendly guide Super Mario pointed out highlights we would have missed. Warm hooded coveralls were provided, as well as pfd’s. so weather and clothing are not an issue.. Highly recommend!
