Arles, St Remy and Avignon

Emily_J, Oct 2025
Lots of discussion about Van Gogh.. Where and how he painted... Van Gogh's life. Arles, St Remy, Avignon. Busy day

Perfect day of art, history and architecture today

Roslyn_T, Jun 2025
Nicholas is a terrific guide — deeply knowledgeable about the Provence region, its history and its influence on the Impressionists, from Van Gogh and Gauguin to Cezanne who was born and lived in Aix. The towns visited were gorgeous - blending Roman, medieval and Gothic architecture in Arles, Les Baux and Avignon. Finally realized thanks to this tour that Chateau Neuf de Pape is named for the Pope’s New Palace (1350-1420) in Avignon!! Highly recommend this guide And this tour!

Great day!!

Patricia_I, Jun 2024
We had a great time with our very knowledgeable guide, Paul. We learned so much about the towns we visited. On top of it, Paul is very cool and helpful. He had the patience of an angel with us stopping for photos or buying a souvenir. I highly recommend this tour which gives a nice flavor of Provence!!

Small Group Tour

CAROLGUSTAFSON52, Apr 2024
Loved being part of a small group with a very knowledgeable tour guide. A nice way to see other towns in Provence, especially as it pertains to Vincent Van Gogh. Loved seeing Arles and all its history. It’s well worth spending a full day. Highly recommend.

On the Van Gogh trail

Mark_S, Apr 2024
I saw this trip as I was booking a holiday to Aix-en-Provence and felt this would be a wonderful way seeing some of this an and countryside of Southern France. We did this tour on Easter Monday with Jenny and it lived up to the hype. As it turned out, it became a private tour since my group was the only one on the trip. The visit to Arles, Avignon, Les Baux-en-Provence and the monastery provided rich insight into Van Gogh’s trip through France and his inspiration for Starey Night. Jenny did an excellent job as our tour guide, pointing out key sights with great stories along the way. She went above and beyond for the tour.

I wish we could arena from inside We were told that we didn’t have time and besides it was not original just renovated to be suitable for the contemporary events

Van Gogh and more……

Polly_R, Aug 2023
We visited Arles, St Remy, Avignon, & Les Baux with our wonderful guide, Paul, who was engaging and knowledgeable. Left at 9am and was back around 5:30. Great tour, not super long day, highly recommend.

Guide makes the difference

jack_b, Jul 2023
Marlon, our driver- guide was excellent: a very safe driver, very courteous and sensitive to client’s needs, willing to make adjustments to accommodate requests, well informed about sites.

MarciaG_Y, Jul 2023
Despite the heat, it was a great day trip. Marlon was a good guide. It should be noted that Van Gogh's "Yellow House" no longer exists, and is only represented by a marker!

Just good

Faith_A, Jul 2023
Amazing places but not enough information from our tour guide. He was on his phone and texting while driving which made us uncomfortable. We would have loved to have heard more about the history of the places we visited.

Nathalie, The Amazing Guide

JaneAnne_F, Apr 2023
Having an excellent guide and driver (Nathalie, our host) made the full day trip very enjoyable. Her knowledge of the culture and history of the places we visited was highly informative. The atmosphere of Van Gogh was all around as we visited places where he painted and suffered. The trip to Les Baux-des-Provence had spectacular views (lots of time for photos) and, of course, the food was outstanding. Nathalie was very accommodating to the various physical abilities of our group, ranging in ages from mid-thirties to late seventies.

Great Time

Larry_C, Oct 2022
The tour was a lot of fun, we visited all the sites indicated in the add. The highlight of our tour was our guide Paul, he is knowledgeable, funny, and best of all enjoys his job. He really makes all the attendees feel comfortable.

History of Van Gogh in Provence and tour of the villages

Gayle_Y, Jul 2022
I decided on this tour due to the villages we would be seeing : Arles, Avignon, St Remy de Provence and Le Baux de provence. It is a lot to see in one day and this guide was able to do it all. Even though I've seen these villages many times, it's always refreshing to see them again and meet new people on the tour.

Wonderful Tour

Gloria_G, Jul 2022
I had a great time on this tour. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We hit all the main sites and I was very satisfied.

More of a driver than a tour guide

Percy_A, May 2022
I don’t recall the name of our driver, but he had moved here just a few months prior. I feel they should train new guides better. Our guide didn’t tell us any information and served more as a driver, which I guess we could have done on our ownWe would ask basic questions, which he would respond with “the information should be inside”. Every stop on our Van Gough tour he would say something like “I don’t think it’s worth it to go inside and pay, but yeah this is where he was hospitalized” and drop us off there for an hour. Was barely a tour guide. (OKAY TO POST REVIEW, BUT DO NOT PUBLISH MY NAME PLEASE)

Response from Host, Jun 2022

Hello P, we are sorry for the bad experience. Although Marlon followed a training, we will work with him and follow necessary steps so that he can provide this tour same level as the rest of our team members. On the previous tours that he performed alone the feedback was great. Marlon is kind, drives safely and speaks languages, now we will revise accurately his training. How can we refund your tickets? Please contact us privately. Kind regards, Silvio (bonjour provence) ------------------- Hi again Percy, we entirely refunded your tickets. Best Regards, Silvio (bonjour provence)

Excellent experience

Shelley_C, May 2022
Our guide Paul was excellent and went above and beyond with the information provided. He also went out of his way to drop us off at the Chateau we were staying at which was amazing.
