Compelling introduction to Port Adelaide

Port Adelaide has a compelling history, as do many old ports, and this walking tour revealed much of that history. My guide, Andrea, and the touring company's owner, Katina, brought the port alive with their deep knowledge of, and personal connections to, the town. We covered the full scope of the port's history (including the tragic post-settlement history of the Aboriginal people and efforts at repair), its array of heritage buildings, its current status, and plans for the future. Even though the day was wet and chilly, this was time well spent. I highly recommend visiting Port Adelaide and taking this tour.
