A great tour of North Adelaide

We spent a lovely couple of hours with our guide, Graeme, visiting some of the historic sites of North Adelaide. There was a lot to see and appreciate - so many beautiful buildings and so much history. Greame was a wonderful guide. He was very knowledgeable, providing us with the history of he building and monuments we visited, and taking us to a few "hidden" spots that would have never known about had we gone by ourselves. Well worth it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour last Friday 16th, helped a little because, for different reasons, I was the only person being guided. Graeme was a very pleasant person who articulately shared an enormous amount of information about the various buildings, statues of prominent people and their relevant history and importance to the city and surrounding region of Adelaide. I must compliment Graeme on his memory and delivery of interesting historic detail. The tour suited me very well as within quite a small area, and without too much walking, we were able to cover many of the city's cultural landmarks. I found the Immigration Museum particularly interesting, if not somewhat sad, and was very taken by the Statue of The Honourable Dame Roma Mitchell, such an impressive woman. We finished at the Art Gallery where I then enjoyed lunch and hours admiring an abundance of wonderful artwork. On Graeme's recommendation I then returned to wander around the incredible Mortlock Wing in the Library - wow! Loved that. Thank you Graeme. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in the history of Adelaide; it is fascinating and the buildings and memorials elegant and moving. Jane (Brisbane)

Cultural Walking Tour North Terrace

I was initially impressed that Graeme did not cancel my tour as I was the only participant. He gave a greater insight into the history behind the sites he showed me that I would not have gained just looking on my own. It was interesting and engaging. The highlight was the visit to the State Library. I would highly recommend it.
