One of the best tours I experienced in Ghana! We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Auntie Irene as she showed us how to make banku, fried fish, stew, chicken and jollof rice. My fav was the jollof rice. So good! I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it as good as Auntie but I’m glad I at least saw the process. The experience really makes you appreciate the local dishes even more.

Great time.

This was a great experience. Irene and her family were wonderful. It was a great way to see how a family in Ghana lives and get a better idea of how the extended family works.

Worth it!

This was a great experience! We had an opportunity to really engage with locals in a local environment. The food we helped prepare was very good and the host was delightful. Definitely recommend!

Be careful booking online

The person did not show, and when another person called on my behalf the person hung up on them. Sorely disappointed

Cooking in Ghana, a personal experience

Everyone one involved was so helpful and very friendly. I think they went above and beyond to show us how to prepare a new dish.

Response from Host, Jun 2024

We are so happy that you had fun! Come back anytime!

Not what I had expected

Johanna_S, Aug 2022
The experience is not what I had expected. I expected to be more hands on involved and that wasn’t the case. The prepping of the ingredients were already done. I chose the the okra stew with banku. When it came to cooking banku, I did get to help a bit, but when it came to cooking the stew, the lady pretty much did everything- even the seasoning. Now it was time to eat, and I ate by myself while they were sitting there watching. It really wasn’t a comfortable or pleasant experience. I’m all for supporting people to help them earn money, but I too have to work for my money and I like it to be well spent. I do not recommend this experience..sorry.

Memorable Experience

Although it was not a full day class, it was still a great experience! The food was delicious. The class lasted about 2 hours, which was perfect for us. Also, very grateful that Linda was able to connect me with a local seamstress. Very nice lady!

Response from Host, Feb 2022

Thank you so much for coming! We appreciate your booking and being able to connect with you during the cooking! We hope to see you again soon :)

Great experience

JUANITA_D, Jul 2021
This tour brought us into a neighborhood not too far from airport area. The ladies assisting in cooking with us were kind and funny. We got to make Fufu and had it with a soup. The guide was very flexible and easy to communicate with.

Response from Host, Feb 2022

So happy that you enjoyed your time with us. Thank you again and I hope you are doing well
