Great Normandy Battle tour!

This all day experience covers the most critical sites in a thoughtful and comprehensive way. You have time to see everything but just know that the day has no time to go to the museums. If that is your hope I would recommend spending an extra day and getting a car and just going museum to museum.

Just Incredible.

We were picked up in our AirBNB in a beautiful van. VERY convenient for a ride out to the D-Day sites. The history and visuals were breathtaking. The American Cemetery was very emotionally moving. The Experience was particularly amazing because our guide was EXCEPTIONAL. Audrey was very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job explaining the region and its history, from the Vikings all the way up to present day, with a focus on WWII. She was also very accommodating with my wife’s elderly parents. She was very fun and funny and we now consider her like our new friend. ! A+++++.

Excellent tour of Normandy Beaches

We have gone on many Viatour excursions and they have all been good but this one was the very best one so far. Our tour guide Alex was extremely well informed about the subject matter and did an amazing job of bringing everything to life for everyone on the tour. It was a long day to get to all the sites but he paced everything really well and had a great sense of humor that helped keep everyone engaged. Overall we would rate this tour a 12 out of 10. Do not miss out!

Great tour

This was a great tour. It was amazing to see the sites where these major events in history took place. The cemetery was moving & humbling to see. The guide was very informative. He explained the events at each site. He shared photos of the different sites as they looked during the war. He also told some amazing stories from some of the soldiers that were there that day. I would highly recommend this tour!

Normandy experience

The driver (Charles) was well-versed in WWII history. He knew soldier numbers, movement, and battle outcomes. My uncle landed on Utah Beach on D Day and made it out of WWII alive. Another traveler’s relative also landed on Utah Beach in D Day. Charles went out of his way to obtain information regarding this individual and my own uncle. He was able to drive on the same pathway as the man did in 1944. Overall, a great value.

This was an excellent tour of a very scenic and spectacular UNESCO site. Our guide Élise had extensive knowledge and was attentive to our safety on many flights of stairs. One of our party lost an item and she went beyond the call of duty to locate it in a restaurant the following day and personally return it to us. An excellent experience

Great D-Day Experience

We really enjoyed our day exploring the history of D-Day in Normandy. Lucy eas a fantastic guide. She was very engaging and brought history to life. You see it all in this one-day tour. One of the highlights of the day was visiting the Airborne Museum where we learned about the important role the paratroopers played in the D-Day operation. This is an interactive museum. In one exhibit, you actually feel like you are a paratrooper in a plane getting ready to jump out to start your mission in Normandy. Seeing both beaches where the U.S. soldiers landed on D-Day was very impactful. The beaches are so beautiful today but there are signs all around of what took place in 1944. Finally, the stop at American Cemetery was very moving. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Normandy.

On Sept 2 we took the Mont St. Michael tour with Viator. Our guide was Elise. She was very personable and so well informed about the history of the cathedral and the various rooms we went through. She was also well versed in the surrounding area and the history of the people who were involved with the building and use of the Cathedral over the years. She was an excellent and safe driver on the trip to and from as well. We enjoyed the day very much and thank Elise for such a memorable day.
