What are people saying about Kyoto

An excellent way to tour Kyoto's best sights
It's a full day with lots of short transfers between areas of Kyoto BUT you get exactly what it says on the tin! It was thoroughly enjoyable and having a private guide meant we could ask lots of questions and get to understand more about Japan. Our guide was Tammy who had excellent English and was happy to discuss many different aspects of the tour. Be prepared to jump on buses, into taxis and to board trains with the advantage that you spend more time at the destination and get to almost all of the major sights. But note that the client is required to pay the various fares (generally inexpensive, even taxis are cheap). Tammy was easy to find at the station for the start of the tour and we ended up in Gion which is a gentle walk back into the city centre. It was obvious that we had covered more in one day than most of the other tours, mainly because there was just 2 of us and our guide. We agreed that this was an excellent way to experience Kyoto.

A Morning with the Deer
We were the only party of the group so it was like a personal guide. The pick up point was relatively easy to find and having had a previous WhatsApp message made life really easy. Our guide Moe was a lovely young lady passionate about Nara park and the wider Japanese culture and traditions. She provided excellent detail for each temple and shrine and clearly had an affinity with the whole area. Her caring nature for the narure was clearly demonstrated when she spotted a deer trying to eat a coffee cup. She went across and quickly grabbed it off the deer to prevent any issues. We had a truly marvelous morning and Moe just made it that much more memorable.

Amazing Gion Food Tour
We had such a wonderful experience on our food tour! Liz, our tour guide, was so sweet, knowledgeable, and very informative about the history of Gion and Japan. We learned so much while enjoying some amazing food along the way. We also met some wonderful people on the tour, including two lovely couples from Orange County, California—so funny to travel all the way to Japan and meet people from back home! Such a small world. It was such a fun and memorable experience and definitely a highlight of our time in Japan!

Memorable Experience
It was a great tour despite the rain. My family enjoyed Nara Park the most, especially the deer and how they understood when we showed our empty hands to show we had no food. 😆 We also enjoyed the bamboo forest. Our tour guide, Clytie set up a WhatsApp chat with the group representatives, which made communication easy. During the journey, she shared historical and cultural information about the places we visited. Overall, it was a good trip and a memorable experience! 😊
