What are people saying about Chania

Delightful rustic evening
The hosts Sophia and Maneleo were kind, accommodating and fun. We had a transport mixup - arrived an hour late in the rain., but they carried on. We set right to cooking - chopping, dicing, mixing and into clay pots for the fire. we milked goats and experienced real sustainability. They grow everything they eat including making their own wine and Raki. It is raining so we forego the tour of the olive groves in favor of a visit with their YiaYia who lives just up the road. The food is freah amd tasty, the mandolin playing a nice touch and the conversation delightful. Would recommend. Its a rustic evening in the mountains .

Book it!!!
The best crew we’ve ever had! Book it! Everyone was kind and very knowledgeable. It was a wonderful experience from start to end. We felt super safe and the communication was amazing. They reached out ahead of time and kept us informed of weather leading up to it. I will return to Balos but only if it’s with this crew!!

I can’t think of a more...
I can’t think of a more enjoyable way to start our Greek adventure. Yannis was a wonderful host and made us feel incredibly welcome. The people we met and the places we visited made us feel so at home. Such a great way to experience the culture of Chania.

Come hungry and ready to learn a lot about Chania
Christos gave us so much more than just a food tour. It was an amazing and insightful experience that combined the delicious flavors of Chania with the city’s fascinating history and culture. Of course, the food was incredible, but what made the tour especially memorable was how much we learned about Chania along the way. Christos shared so many interesting stories and facts about the city, giving us a much deeper appreciation for its history, culture, and traditions. Christos was also incredibly welcoming and eager to answer any questions we had. You could genuinely tell how much he enjoys sharing his knowledge and love for Chania with others, and his enthusiasm made the experience that much more enjoyable. My advice: come prepared with an empty stomach because there is plenty of delicious food to enjoy, and an open mind ready to soak up all the fascinating stories, history, and local knowledge along the way. If you're visiting Chania, I highly recommend this experience. You’ll leave not only very full, but also with a much greater appreciation and understanding of the city and Cretan culture. It truly is more than a food tour!

Life is good in Chania, one of the major cities on the island of Crete. Alongside some of the oldest signs of civilization in the Mediterranean lie vineyards, pink sand beaches, and charming villages that show Greek culture at its best. Chania tours take the hassle out of organizing your trip to the island—go to Elafonissi Beach, the White Mountains, or the ancient Palace of Knossos with easy transfers from your hotel. Or stick around in the city and explore some under-the-radar corners of the local food scene.
