The Perfect Way to Experience Istanbul

We originally planned to do a group tour, but with only two full days in Istanbul, we decided at the last minute that a private tour would allow us to see and learn much more. We were so glad we made that decision—and we were incredibly lucky to have Fettah as our guide! Fettah met us right at our hotel, and we began our day at the Hippodrome before continuing to the Blue Mosque, Topkapı Palace, Hagia Sophia, and the Basilica Cistern. It was a full day with a lot of walking, but absolutely worth it. One of the things we appreciated most was having Fettah all to ourselves. Throughout the day, we passed huge groups of 20–30 people following guides holding umbrellas or flags, and it made us appreciate our private tour even more. We could ask questions whenever we wanted, spend more time on the things that interested us, and move through the day at a pace that worked for us. Fettah was incredibly knowledgeable—it honestly felt like having our own personal history teacher walking through Istanbul with us. Every question we asked, he had a detailed answer for, and his knowledge of the history, culture, architecture, and significance of everything we were seeing was impressive. He didn't just give us memorized facts; he explained things in a way that helped us understand how everything connected. He was also extremely personable and educated, which made spending the entire day with him genuinely enjoyable. I felt like we learned so much more because of the one-on-one experience. For lunch, Fettah gave us three different restaurant options and let us choose what sounded best to us. We enjoyed a wonderful traditional Turkish lunch with kebabs and, of course, baklava for dessert. It was a perfect break in the middle of our sightseeing day. By the end of the tour, we had walked a lot and seen so much, but we never felt like we were simply being rushed from one attraction to another. The flexibility, personal attention, and ability to ask as many questions as we wanted made such a difference. If you only have a limited amount of time in Istanbul, I highly recommend doing a private tour. It allowed us to make the most of our time while still enjoying the experience instead of feeling like we were being herded through the city in a large group. We had a wonderful day and are so grateful to Fettah for making our time in Istanbul both memorable and educational. He truly made the history of the city come alive for us!

Incredible tour, delicious food and awesome guide

Did this tour for the second time in four years and will do it again on my next visit. The group size is perfect and the range of food you enjoy is spectacular. Ali was such a friendly guide and took us to locations in all three parts of Istanbul. I suggest this tour on your first full day in town to really get a sense of the neighborhoods, their different vibes and to see what kind of local flavors you like best so you can focus on those for the rest of your time in the city. Truly one of the top food tours I have taken in the world. You will end full, so arrive hungry and with good walking shoes. We covered about 21000 steps by the end of the tour. You get to enjoy the ferry ride twice which is an added bonus!

Amazing tour and hosts

D was our guide and she was amazing. We experienced an accident and needed medical care and she came with us to the hospital and helped us manage the language barrier and then continued the tour and worked late to make it happen. She and the company made us feel like family and really took care of us in all that means for a tour and unexpected problems. Can’t recommend enough!

An amazing tour

Özge Ozan was our guide for the day. She was a superb guide. She messaged on the morning to confirm our preferred start time and then discussed with us the proposed itinerary emphasising that it was totally flexible to suit us. We then set off and spent time at the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome and Topkapi Palace. We learned a lot about them all and spent enough time in each. As well as her evident knowledge of Turkish history, Özge also talked to us about many modern aspects of Turkey and the world in general which was very interesting. Her English skills were excellent We also visited a ceramic shop and rug shop but felt no sales pressure. The long day finished when we were ready. We very much enjoyed our day with Özge and would use her again if we came back to Istanbul and would strongly recommend her services.

Amazing tour of Istanbul

Hired this company and had Rasul as my tour guide. Highly recommend this experience. I wanted to go to the old town with a guide so I could get the history of Istanbul as I looked at the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazzar and Basilica Cistern. Rasul didn’t disappoint. He’s very knowledgeable And pleasant to have as a guide. He helped with photos and took his time explaining things and taking me around town. Highly recommend this tour and the guide.

The trip lived upto expextations. The constant flow of snacks and the helpful crew made this an enjoyable experience and one that I would happily recommend to others. The cruise vessel was spotlessly clean and well maintained too. The person providing the commentary perhaps was a little too talkative maybe that could be improved. Less inane chatter. Point out the things of interest and not much more.

Wonderful experience from...

Wonderful experience from start to finish. The driver communicated when to be ready for pickup at our hotel and was there on time.
