Wonderful experience

This was the best tour on our trip. Our guide, Claire, was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable and personable! The small group made it a wonderful experience.

Wonderful tour!

Leslie_T, Oct 2019
My adult son and I were fortunate to have Carolina as our tour guide. She has had years of experience and knows the Louvre and Art very very well. She was friendly and extremely informative, sharing details about the artwork and the history of pieces and the Louvre itself. We enjoyed her thoughtful teaching style - she would mention things we should notice and then question us on our observations and we would discuss them. My son and I both felt we learned a great deal from her in an intelligent, enjoyable way. When the tour was over and Carolina bid us adieux, we suddenly realized we wanted to tip her. I went after her but could not determine which of the many possible directions she went, and never found her. I am sorry about that - she is a fantastic guide. The Louvre is huge and I cannot imagine going without a guide on a first visit - it would be so difficult to find things and the museum is several levels, around 8 miles long end to end. Someday I hope to go back and have full days to spend there and study the paintings. There are so many huge and gorgeously detailed paintings, furniture, statues - an amazing gift to the world. This should not be missed on a Paris visit.

Very Informative

Sylvi was very Informative and nice. She was very accommodating and friendly. She made sure that we saw the Mona Lisa, Venus of Milo and The winged victory.

Perfect little intro to the Louvre

LisaD917, Sep 2019
I was with my two teens and one of their friends and this was a great introduction to the Louvre. Our guide Florence was knowledgeable and interesting and great with kids. I booked this to be a small group as they said 12 max and we were us four plus a couple so 6 in total was a great group. Recommend it highly.

Did not deliver. Wasted money..

Kimberly_O, Sep 2019
Had such hopes for the advertised tour . What we received: A guide that took 40 min to get group “organized”, many headsets didn’t work, guide used his microphone for conversations and so we heard his 1-way exchange. Didn’t see much art. Waited thru long lines. Not express at all. Guide was BORING and didn’t take advantage of educating us. I learned more from listening to my sister explain the artwork. Waste of money and not as advertised.

On Time

We had a great tour. Our guide was friendly and very informative. She took us trough the main highlights like the Mona Lisa. We saw several things in 1.5 hours.

Jean-Luc, our guide, fabulous tour

Marisa_T, Aug 2019
We highly recommend this tour. Small group, skip line, lots of individual attention, with a guide who is passionate about his job. He paid extra special attention to our 9 year old grandson and told stories surrounding the exhibits highlighted in the tour. His stories were so fascinating to our boy that he remembered the names of paintings and statues and has been talking about them for 2 days to his younger brother (who we wisely left in the apartment with his mother and the 8 month old baby). Superb guide and wonderful tour. Marisa

Great way to see the highlights of the Louvre!

My daughter and I were on a highschool graduation trip in Paris----she is an artist, art history buff and LOVES all things art! She really wanted to spend a full day or two in the Louvre taking in as much as she could during our stay in this wonderful city. I had been on another trip to Paris and had been in the Louvre once before...it can be overwhelming even if you LOVE ART! Especially in the summer...the crowds are big and in order to see all the highlights in a fast efficient way, this is the best way to do it. Then you can stay in the museum and go back to see everything again at your own pace and/or explore other areas you didn't see on the tour! The tour guide was helpful, informative, spoke great English and navigated us through to see all the highlights, including the Mona Lisa, in 1.5 hours! Highly recommend this even for the most seasoned art lover!

Not Good, Poor Value

cruiseguy2018, Aug 2019
I'll preface by saying our tour guide himself was excellent, really knowledgeable and friendly. None of my complaints are his fault. However, when you hear "skip the line" you'd assume you don't wait in any lines, not the case. You get to skip the security line, which was a short line to begin with, maybe we cut in front of ten people. Once you're past security there is a line to get into the actual museum, which we did not skip, and was apr. 20 minutes of waiting, not a huge deal, except for that we went straight to Mona Lisa, which was another 20-25 min. wait, so we've started at 3:30pm (Louvre closes at 5:30pm), it's 4:26pm (time-stamp on my pictures) by the time we get to Mona Lisa, and now we rush through (practically running, literally stopped to take pictures and almost lost the group) all the other pieces to try to get to them by the time the tour is over. I think we saw three other "Masterpieces". Once the tour is over... the Louvre closes, so no time to go back and look at anything else in the museum, very disappointing for the price we paid, I would not suggest this tour and if you decide to do it, do not do the afternoon time slot. Also, the headsets were cutting out horribly, very hard to understand the guide, ended up taking out the ear bud and standing close enough to hear him.

Worth every penny

So great not to have to wait in line... However last minute changes to location of Mona Lisa at Louvre caused a bit of a rushed experience. Overall tour was excellent.

Wonderful tour

Antonella F, Jul 2019
We chose this tour because we didn't have a lot of time and we wanted to see the more popular art works at the Louvre. We took our 18 and 15 year old children and they also enjoyed it. Overall it was quick and stress free! Our tour guide, Ana, was excellent and very sweet.

Small Group Tour

Hilton_K, Jul 2019
Our guide was quirky, funny, thoughtful, and very knowledgeable. Before going in, I had no idea how anyone would squeeze a tour of The Louvre into an hour and a half, but I do know how crowded and overwhelming the museum is, especially when you are pressed for time. Our tour focused briefly on Greek and Roman statuary, then moved on to da Vinci. From there, we learned about the building itself as we filtered through the painting galleries. Our guide prompted us to think about why elements and symbols within the paintings were important, and how images we take for granted now were revolutionary at the time (because they challenged The Church!).We learned a great deal of history and theory within a short amount of time, and in a group of 6, it was easy to keep up with everyone. Finding the tour guide/group was also easy; under the Arche du Carrousel, across from the pyramid, a young lady (not our guide) checked us in. Different types of tours got different colored stickers so you knew who was in your group, and so your guide could find you. After the tour, we were free to stay at the museum and wander. We did, but in the heat (it's July) and with the vast hordes of people, we didn't last much longer. I firmly believe the small, personalized group tour is the way to go. Larger tours are probably also good, but those folks received devices with an earbud so they could hear their guide. I also can't imagine it is easy for a guide to keep up with larger groups of people.

Best way to visit louvre

AMIT_M, Jun 2019
We just walked in past the immense crowds. Guide Damien was excellent . On our own we would have been completely lost in this HUGE building.

Skipping good, tour just okay

Sunshine27376936864, Jun 2019
Skipping the long lines to enter the Louvre was worth 5 stars. The guided tour was less enjoyable. The lines were very long when we arrived. Going in via a back entrance was a game changer. Our guide was nice but spent too much time discussing details on some pieces. It would have been helpful if he read the crowd and noticed how few people were paying attention. Maybe he had a limited number of spots to take us to but we would have preferred a quicker pace in the commentary. The portable headset were hard to hear at times which was also an issue. Guess it was better than the guide trying to be heard over the crowds.

Victoria was an amazing guide! So knowledgable and you can tell has a genuine love for art and history. Tour was small (12 people) and 1.5 hrs which was perfect and more than enough time to see the big pieces of art. We enjoyed the tour and Victoria made it a great experience.

Just What We Needed

Fearless34646044555, May 2019
This tour was just what we needed -- we wanted a shorter tour because my parents (in their 80s) were with us -- and while we focused on only a few of the masterpieces, our guide, Sylvie, really taught us how to look at the art...and how to navigate the crowds.

Truly enjoyed our private tour. We were a group of 4 total and it was perfect! Our guide provided fascinating facts about the art and pointed out hidden gems and skilled interpretations. Highly recommended

A great into to the Louve

Barbara D, Oct 2018
I don’t like spending too much time standing around so this tour was perfect. We squeezed most of the highlights into 1.5 hours, which was perfect for us. The guide was very nice and knowledgeable

Interesting and fun!

Our group had 5 people plus another person who missed her earlier tour so it does live up to the tour description. We took the Metro and the meeting place was a short walk. Our guide provided interesting insight on why the Museum put certain paintings in the same room. He explained how Mona Lisa painting became famous prior to people discovered her smile. He also explained where to get cool breeze, it's so hot inside the Museum and why we need the map to fan ourselves. We did spend a few more hours after the tour, especially sitting around the fountains.

Lorel_M, Aug 2018
I assumed we would get up close and personal to the Mona Lisa and the other masterpieces, but you have to stand in the masses like everyone else. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly but even with the express tour, it was all a bit overwhelming. You'd do better to just buy general admission and go in yourself.

Craig_M, Aug 2018
The tour guide was very nice but we had trouble hearing her the entire time even when we only have 5 people. The Louvre was extremely crowded and noisy so it was hard to hear and move around. It would have been much better to have a listening device and an earpiece. We meet the tour company outside to get our tickets and that seemed very unorganized as people were crowding around the main person to get a ticket. I would not do this again.

LauraH_K, Jul 2018
This is a good tour for someone with only a small amount of time who wants to see the main attractions. You don't have to find your way on your own. You do see only a small amount of what you can see but you don't waste time trying to figure out how to get to places. If you do have a greater amount of time this tour would be a good jumping off point as your guide will provide directions and suggestions for further things to see.

We have three teenage boys and this was the perfect amount of time at the Louvre. The guide did a great job of keeping them interested with stories about the painting.

BEST THING IN PARIS

Laura_T, Jul 2018
so worth it. tour guide got us right up in front of all the great famous works of art. she was friendly and knowledgeable. I took my toddler and she was so patient with us. i would never do the louvre without a guide. this guided tour was a highlight of my paris trip

Excellent!

Deborah_O, Jul 2018
Skipping the line is must here. Our tour guide was art savvy, she made sure we got to see the more famous art pieces since it's impossible to see everything in one day. I recommend the early tour for art lovers. This was a great experience and I highly recommend it.

Jenifer C, May 2018
Better off getting tickets at the Louvre for just skipping the line without express tour, so much to see but guide talked too much about 3 exhibits for the whole tour and was annoying asking to please engage about 2 sculptures which were boring.

Excellent Tour covering the major items in Louvre - Mona Lisa, Psyche Revived by Cupids Kiss, The Venus de Milo, The Winged Victory of Samothrace, The Raft of the Medusa, The Coronation of Napoleon, The Dying Slave and the Rebellious Slave, The Medieval Louvre etc. Special mention must be made of the Guide Claire Cooper who made the tour very interesting with her knowledge and enthusiasm and the 90 minutes went by very quickly. I would highly recommend her as the tour guide for this tour. After the 90 minutes tour you can stay back and explore more of the museum on your own.
