The Last Supper is a must see in Milan!

Visiting Leonardo’s The Last Supper has been on my bucket list for quite some time. It did not disappoint! It was awesome to also have the opportunity to visit Michelangelo’s Pieta. The tour included information about the Sforza Castle as well as the church where the famous painting is located.

Great way to start your visit to Milan

I did this tour to see some of the main sites as well as other places in Milan, in order to give me a chance to become familiar with the city and plan the remainder of my visit with better information. This tour definitely accomplished that. We saw the castle, the arch, the Duomo, the high end fashion district, among other sites. My guide, Leo, provided a good background on these places as well as suggestions for other places I planned to visit including the Duomo museum, the San Siro sports stadium and museum, the opera house, and the other museums in the city. Leo also provided helpful suggestions on how to use the subway and where to eat. Immediately following the tour I enjoyed a pizza at the place he said was one of the best! A great start to my visit to Milan!

La Scala - the inside story

Fabia was a fantastic guide! She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of La Scala and provided very interesting anecdotes about the opera. We got to see the inside of the theatre and stand in the boxes for that viewpoint. Overall a truly memorable experience!

Very relaxed and informative tour

An amazing tour that turned out to be a private one when we were the only ones booked onto it! Our tour guide was so warm and friendly and had a great sense of humour! She was very knowledgeable and gave ample time during the tour to look, ask questions and take photos. At the end of the tour she advised us on what else our tickets allowed us to do and where to go etc. wish I’d got her name to recommend her. On a side note I’d also commend Viator for not cancelling the tour due to only us booking it. A different tour company had done this to a couple on a different tour we were on so a shout out and thanks to Viator and the tour operator for that😊

A quick yet satisfying viewing of a da Vinci masterpiece

This was our first time to see one of Italy’s prized paintings, and I was so excited! Fortunately, we were paired with a guide who had studied art history; and she helped to bring da Vinci’s Last Supper to life. The tour began outside in the Piazza di Santa Maria delle Grazie. Our guide explained that the admission time you have reserved will be strictly observed as they are very careful about how often the doors open and close as they work so hard to protect the painting’s environment. She then gave us some background information about da Vinci, the church’s role in the appearance of so many different Last Supper works by many different artists and how time, wars and preservation efforts have affected da Vinci’s masterpiece over the years. When we were able to enter the dining hall where the painting resides, I was awestruck. The work is enormous and is so beautiful, it brought tears to my eyes. Our guide gave us some more info and details and then invited us to just sit if we wanted to, to just absorb the moment. Time in the room is capped at 15 minutes, so we were unshared outside to end our tour. It was a wonderful introduction to Italy’s mind-blowing number of breathtaking paintings!

Insightful private tour was worth it!

Silvie was so thoroughly knowledgeable and insightful with regard to the artwork. Not needing to stand in line for tickets at the Duomo or fumble through entrance to the Last Supper, with its special care considerations, was a serious stress saver. Getting a private tour of the city was perfect in that we heard every word! Highly recommend!!

Kind of a scam, but i loved it!

Great tour. The guide's microphone wasn't working correctly but noone wanted to tell her except me! Kind of curious as to how the guides can get so many tickets and charge 5 times the cost of the entrance fee. Most of the people in our group didn't even care what the guide was saying.

Enlightened

This is a short visit. As time to view the “Last Supper” is very closely monitored (15 mins). Our guide Marco was very professional and knowledgeable. The tour began on time, a lot of history surrounding the paint and the church was shared before entering the museum. Marco shared many details about the paint an the history behind them. This is a master piece that has truly survived the times. I highly recommend this tour.
