Athens - Private Half Day Tour

Andreas, our driver, was excellent! He arrived at the port early and held a sign with our name so we easily knew exactly where to go after getting off the ship. He was the utmost professional, pleasantly friendly and gave the perfect blend of history and trivia that kept us educated, informed and entertained. Andreas continuously offered endless bottles of cold water which was very kind and much appreciated since the weather in Athens was warming up. The Sprinter was clean, the AC kept us cool in between stops and it even had free wifi! We first drove to the Acropolis and Andreas made sure to let us know we had ample time to explore the magnificent historical site. When we were ready to go, he was only a phone call away and never kept us waiting to be picked up for the next destination. Afterward, we visited the Acropolis Museum and then Andreas drove us to Mt. Lycabettus where we were enthralled with spectacular panoramic views of Athens. The kids were hungry by that point, so we asked for his recommendation for a restaurant and O Thanasis in Plaka was the perfect lunch destination. The souvlakis and tomato salad were divine! And yes, they serve Greek salad lol. The kiddos were able to order their french fries as well. Time flew by so quickly that we realized we only had a short time to souvenir shop after lunch. But at the designated pickup time and place we asked Andreas if there was a store along the way where we could purchase a specific gift and he said no problem and found a couple of markets where we could quickly go in, make our purchases all while he waited outside with the Sprinter. That was above and beyond top notch customer service! While we didn't get to see as many sights as other travelers may have wanted (only because we were traveling with young children), this tour was perfect for our family since it was flexible and Andreas was more than accomodating.
