The guide never showed up. We went to the ticket counter and they let us in. Thankfully Viator refunded us. Other than that the place is eerily cool. The self audio guide is very good and worth listening to. Would recommend this excursion.
Response from Host, May 2026
Dear Karen
You have booked an audio guide visit that doesn't included actual tour guide.
Helen_V, May 2026
Lots of steps to entrance, someone with mobility issues may struggle.
Very interesting self audio that gives you the time to look at everything at leisure.
Not to be rushed, excellent value for money.
Humbling.
Would very much advise a visit if into things like this

I gotta say that the staff here was so friendly and kind. I forgot that I needed my shoulders covered so I wore a tank top. They provided me with a little disposable cover and were not judgmental about it. It was also difficult for me to access my ticket and they didn’t get inpatient with me and found my name in their system after some investigating. The site itself is quite a bizarre marvel. They have a museum to pass through first to learn about the capuchin monks which was really interesting.
Sian_W, Apr 2026
Incredible experience with a very small group. I'd say this is must see for Rome.
I do wish we'd had more of an opportunity to view the museum, it was very much a guided whistle stop tour.
Avery_W, Apr 2026
Great tour showing the history of the Capuchin Crypts. Would highly recommend this tour if there is any interest in this history!
Katelyn_L, Apr 2026
Short and sweet. A great tour. The tour guide was funny and our group was a small, intimate size. Would recommend
Ryan_R, Apr 2026
It was just ok, at best. For me personally, it was a waste of time but if you’re looking to fill a gap or maybe occupy your family go for it. It’s definitely not something I would recommend going out of your way to do.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Hello
I value your personal perspective...
" if you’re looking to fill a gap..." please refrain from making a reservation.
Only proceed if you wish to witness a startling reminder of the nature of time, the one thing that cannot be purchased.
Craig_E, Mar 2026
Very easy and short visit to the Crypt. Highly recommend this booking as it was easy to organise and we were able to skip a long queue.
Galen_H, Mar 2026
This is my third time going. I went in 1973, then 2023 and then yesterday. One of the best things to see in Roma, and there are SO many things to see! Though I feel badly for Italy. Tourists are invading their beautiful country. Unfortunately I am one too😜
Kelly_P, Mar 2026
Very informative and the museum is phenomenal. Actual Carravaggio painting!! The children seemed to be enjoying it.
Mark_S, Feb 2026
Slobodan was an absolute gent. Very informative, courteous and funny. The crypts themselves are fantastic but he pointed out a lot of details we would have completely missed, which made it totally worth it
KirstyAnn_H, Jan 2026
Didn't catch the tour guides name, he was very good though, said he was a last minute replacement. Stories were told with some humour, not everyone's cup of tea but I appreciated it. Tour was less than an hour, would have been nice to have a bit more time in the museum itself before going into the crypts. The crypts themselves were amazing, whether you are religious or not quite an experience!
Primrose_A, Jan 2026
Really interesting place but the tour is a rip off. Buy tickets at the venue and you get a free audio guide. Tour definitely not worth it.
Fascinating place but you get rushed through on the tour, no time to read any of the information or take it all in. Save yourself a lot of money and buy direct
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Dear Primrose
You are completely correct; the cost of the audio guide is significantly more reasonable.
I am considering raising the price of the tour to prevent clients from comparing it to the price of an audio guide

Craig_P, Jan 2026
A nice tour. Some difficulties with receiving the tickets. The ticket we received on email was not a ticket readable at the entrance. They apparently sent a separate WhatsApp ticket that I never received. It took about 10 minutes to resolve that issue.
Jeff_W, Jan 2026
Learned alot about the monks and Christianity itself on this tour as I'm a history person. The crypto and history behind the skeletons was very much worth this tour. Great experience.
Tracie_T, Jan 2026
Very interesting but I as a little shocked how many bones there were.
Church was beautiful with many paintings
Daniel_H, Dec 2025
It was a very interesting and informative tour. The audio tour was quite good. It moves at a good pace.
Anne_I, Nov 2025
Great tour. Great guide. We enjoyed this tour very much. The guide was informative and funny which made for a great experience for everyone in our group.
Christopher_B, Nov 2025
Excellent and knowledgeable guide. Was perfect for all in the small group setting. Great sense of humor but was not the focus of the tour. Deep historical and religious significance the guide was able to discuss and explain. Very good.
Karen_M, Oct 2025
Only 5 rooms….interesting part of history but not worth a private tour. Audio guides available at entry.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Hello Karen
Thank you for the review
I would like to clarify your perspective.
Is the value of the location connected to its size?
This may hold true in the realm of real estate, but it certainly does not apply in the context of museums.

Marianne_J, Oct 2025
Fascinating history. A remarkable story with great information about the monks, their clothing, and their practices.
Mary_S, Oct 2025
It is very expensive. Do not bother getting a guide. E43 euro for 3/4 of an hour for group guide is too much
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Hello Mary
You were already aware of both the duration and the cost of the tour prior to making your reservation.
I fail to see where the overcharging aspect lies.
You may not appreciate it, and that's perfectly acceptable, but labeling it as a rip-off is quite excessive.
Russell_G, Aug 2025
Our tour of the Capuchin Crypts was a great experience! The crypts themselves were fascinating and unlike anything we had seen before. The tour was not very long, but it was the perfect amount of time to take it all in without feeling rushed.
Our guide was awesome—extremely funny, nice, and attentive. He kept the group moving smoothly while also making the experience engaging and enjoyable.
One helpful note: shoulders must be covered to enter. If you forget, coverings are available for purchase at the entrance for just one euro.
Overall, this was a unique and memorable tour that we’d definitely recommend!
Joseph_B, Aug 2025
Cover shoulders or you will have to buy a paper shawl for 1 euro. More fun for them but would not go out of your way!
Sabrina_P, July 2025
Highly recommend doing this with a tour guide. You just won’t appreciate the depth of what you’re seeing without one. Our guide was funny, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made the experience interactive and memorable with the perfect mix of history and humor. Absolutely worth it!
Michael_S, July 2025
Great tour of a less known site and less crowded than other experiences - tour guide had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable. Great time!
Justine_M, July 2025
Guide was knowledgable and entertaining. Added bonus-a Carravagio is displayed here. Would recommend.
Kathleen_M, July 2025
Guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable and friendly, adding humor to a serious subject. Highly Recommend!
Nicole_L, July 2025
Unlike anything I’ve seen before. The tour guide was kind and knowledgeable. Overall great experience.
Benton_B, July 2025
I appreciated that our guide waited for us when we were a few minutes late. His jokes made the macabre atmosphere of the crypt much more lightharted and interesting. The length of the tour being less than an hour was also a welcome addition.
