What are people saying about Puglia

A must-have experience for cheese lovers!
It was a wonderful experience to discover a local farm, see the wide variety of activities they are involved in, and feel the passion with which they do everything, from dairy farming and milk processing to cheese aging, olive growing, and cultivating fruit and vegetables. Watching the mozzarella and burrata being made was particularly fascinating. Afterwards, we enjoyed a tasting on the lovely terrace, and everything was absolutely delicious. We also had the opportunity to buy some of their excellent-quality local products. The ricotta was especially delicious!

Loving Bari!
We had the best time making our own pasta and tiramisu. Our host and the chef were absolutely wonderful. We laughed, we ate, we drank wine and met some of the nicest people from Europe. We highly recommend this experience and if you don’t do it, you are missing out!

Two thumbs up for octopus sandwich
Alessia knows food and knows Bari. Fantastic combination for a marvelous tour for foodies. The octopus sandwich by Franco stood out to us among the four delicious freshly baked foods. She called ahead to each place while we were in route to order our tastes (each of which was an entire item) so they would be freshly out-of-the-oven sensational. Ohhh, delicious! She proved her reliability as knowledgeable about food and we plan to use her recommendations across the city the rest of our stay. Great!!

Charming experience in the heart of Bari Vecchia
I’ve wanted to do an authentic cooking class ever since we knew we were going to Bari Vecchia and the thought of making our own focaccia barese and orecchiette (two local delicacies) was too good to pass up! Our guide Elisa introduced herself at the meeting point and took us a short walk to Maria’s kitchen, a charming little room tucked away in the winding streets. Elisa then translated for Marie the whole time - who stood at the head of the table demonstrating exactly what to do with the ingredients - using excellent English, throwing in the occasional joke and gently encouraging everyone in the class to get to know each other. It was such a lovely 2 hours (accompanied by a fantastic playlist!) and getting to taste our own focaccia warm and fresh from the oven was an absolute dream! Making the orecchiette was kinda difficult at first, but once you relaxed and reminded yourself that the nonnas two streets away have had decades of practice, it was really enjoyable (and weirdly therapeutic)! Sadly we didn’t get to eat our own orecchiette - but logically speaking, it would have taken much too long to cook everybody’s - and we still got to enjoy a delicious bowl with tomato and cheese that Maria had made… plus a choice of water, Fanta, red wine or Limoncello. Overall it was a gorgeous experience that fulfilled a lifelong dream of getting to cook in Italy. Even my normally-quite-reserved husband said he loved it and was glad we booked! We’re now obsessed with Focaccia Barese and - thanks to the recipe we received at the end of the class - I’m sure we will be making it many times back home in the UK! Huge thanks to Maria and Elisa for making this such a special experience - one so good, we’re still talking about it several days later. Do yourselves a favour if you’re staying locally and book. I PROMISE you won’t be disappointed!
