Amazing Matera!
An Unforgettable Journey Through Time with Lorenza! Our walking tour of the Sassi di Matera was the absolute highlight of our trip, and that is entirely thanks to our incredible guide, Lorenza. Matera is a visually stunning place, but its deep, complex history really needs a local expert to bring it to life. Lorenza is a phenomenal storyteller. She balances historical facts, cultural anthropology, and personal anecdotes with wonderful humor and genuine warmth. She navigated our family seamlessly through the winding stone paths and stairs, pointing out fascinating architectural details, ancient cave dwellings, and stunning rock-hewn churches that we completely would have missed on our own. It was deeply moving to learn how families historically lived in the cave houses, giving us a true insight into the social history of the community. Beyond her immense knowledge, Lorenza was incredibly attentive, checking in on everyone's comfort with the steps. If you are visiting Matera, booking a tour with Lorenza is an absolute must. She doesn't just show you the city—she helps you feel its history. Thank you, Lorenza, for an exceptional and memorable experience!

So informative!
Our guide was Gaetano. He was very knowledgeable about the area and spoke perfect English. He was helpful to everyone with thier headsets and attentive to his groups needs and speed. In addition to the knowledge he departed on us, he also used jokes to get his point across. I don’t want to give away all of his trade secrets but consider yourself lucky if you take this tour and get him for your guide. At the end he even helped us find a restaurant that met our needs and was delicious

Matera among the Sassi
Nice afternoon tour through the Sassi of Matera with a wonderful view towards sunset. Giusy, our guide, was very nice and thorough regarding the history of Matera and the habits of the people who lived in the Sassi. We also visited a small church, an ancient cemetery, and an old house in the Sassi. Despite stairs, climbs, and descents, the route was very pleasant.

Matera Tour
Matera should definitely be visited on foot, but if you want to spend an hour and a half of pure relaxation with detailed news and information, do not hesitate to book this tour with a covered minibus. We did it with Anita, who was a precious and delightful guide. Recommended
