Veerna was a wonderful host and teacher. She is very knowledgeable of the history of Crete and it was great to learn the story behind the food we prepared. Her and her family really made us feel a part of their family. The food was delicious and there was always someone around to help out if needed. Not to mention the olive grove scenery was beautiful! This is a long day with lots of bus time, however if you are interested in seeing more than coastline then this is a great way to combine the two. We had a lovely guide in Jo and a great driver, Nico. For me, 4 hours at Elafonisi was a little long and I would have liked more time at our late lunch location, Elos. We really only had time for lunch and not enough time to explore the village. However the day itself was great and we covered a lot of miles. Jo’s instructions were very clear, particularly as she was dealing with two different tour groups and she had good information regarding the places we were driving through and visiting.

Delightful rustic evening

The hosts Sophia and Maneleo were kind, accommodating and fun. We had a transport mixup - arrived an hour late in the rain., but they carried on. We set right to cooking - chopping, dicing, mixing and into clay pots for the fire. we milked goats and experienced real sustainability. They grow everything they eat including making their own wine and Raki. It is raining so we forego the tour of the olive groves in favor of a visit with their YiaYia who lives just up the road. The food is freah amd tasty, the mandolin playing a nice touch and the conversation delightful. Would recommend. Its a rustic evening in the mountains .

Amazing boat excursion!

This was one of the best boat excursions we have ever taken. The boat was beautiful. We purchased the VIP ticket so we had access to the top deck and our own sun lounger. Worth every penny. The chef was great and food was amazing. The whole team onboard was so friendly and fun. We loved being able to paddleboard in the Mediterranean. It was the best and most beautiful experience!

Definitely worth it if...

Definitely worth it if you want to visit these hard to reach locations without the chaos of a big tourist ship. Everything was well planned, and the boat had plenty of food, drinks, and places to hang out while sailing. And there are things to do whether you want to run up to the fortress in Gravmousa and swim to Balos lagoon, or just hang out on the boat. If I had to criticize something, I wish they'd separate smokers into their own tour, or make the whole thing non-smoking. We only had one smoker, and it was annoying enough. Not much space on the boat to get away from it.

Our driver Andy was so sweet and hospitable! During our drives to each location, he educated us on the history of Crete in regards to olive trees and vineyards. The staff in each location were so nice and you can just tell they love what they do. Made me appreciate the goods more knowing how much work goes into it. Definitely recommend!
