Elafonissi beach
Great trip, beautiful Elafonissi beach. Amazing scenic drive on Tuesday (round trip). Our guide Silvana was amazing, very well organized with mamy pick ups on the way. She provided a lot of information about the island, history, customs. Very helpfull answered our questions. Our driver #1 driving a big bus though the mountains.

More than we imagined!!!
We booked a private walking tasting tour for our shore excursion from a cruise. Jon was a fantastic and entertaining guide who took us to 7 spots to try the best of local food and legendary restaurants that had been in business for years, including one that was established 98 years ago. Each place was expecting us and knew our guide so we were seated quickly and food came out almost immediately. Jon told us the history of the food and the area, as well as explaining each dish and its ingredients.. We had gyros unlike any we’ve ever had, bougatsa, moussaka, Chaniotiko boureki, loukoumades, (think I got those right!) and so many other delicious treats plus Greek coffee. We then walked from new town to old town to a grocery store where we tasted olive oils (and Jon and explained how to properly taste them), pistachio butter, honey, marmalade, and balsamic vinegar. It was beyond anything I was expecting and far more food than I had anticipated. Jon also walked us through the old town shopping area and to the port and frequently gave us opportunities for pictures. He took us through cute little streets and explained the fort structures as well. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour or guide. All four of us in our group felt this was a very memorable and delightful experience. Wonderful!!!

10/10 day with Michael and Vera
We had a fantastic day with Captain Michael and stew Vera with ideal weather. They provided a day full of excellence service. They timed our stops so we beat crowds or arrived shortly before they departed. The fresh fruit, lunch, and drinks were a cherry on top. We always felt safe and recommend this crew!

Amazing Day!!
So Much More Than a Cooking Class! We had the most wonderful day at Veggera. From the moment we arrived, it felt less like a cooking class and more like being welcomed into a Cretan family’s home. Brother and sister Paraskevas and Sophia started Veggera together two years ago, and they are truly what makes this experience so special. They are both adorable, warm, funny and incredibly engaging. Paraskevas greeted us with a personality that radiated warmth from the moment he said hello, and Sophia was equally friendly, charming—personable, and a wonderful instructor. Her motto for cooking was “as you feel”—there was no wrong way to do anything. Just relax, cook and enjoy. Their parents’ beautiful home is surrounded by lemon and pomegranate trees, prickly pear, gardens and fresh herbs—even an old rowboat converted into an herb garden. We began with coffee and cookies and a chance to meet the other guests before gathering around the tables to cook. We chopped fresh, homegrown zucchini, onions potatoes, tomatoes, dill and other vegetables and herbs along with feta cheese and goat cheese. We rolled our own dough abd stuffed with cheeses and inions and helped prepare a wonderful feast of lamb, sheep and fresh vegetables, which Sophia cooked in their wood-burning oven. While our meal cooked, Paraskevas showed us around the property, where we fed the goats, saw rabbits and birds, and even had the opportunity to milk the goats if we wanted to. Their parents were there helping as well, which made the experience feel even more authentic and family-oriented. Nothing felt staged or touristy—it genuinely felt like a family opening their home and sharing their life and traditions with us. There were 14 of us, all strangers when we arrived. Somewhere between cooking, laughing, feeding goats and sharing a delicious meal around the table, strangers became friends. The perfect ending came when Paraskevas took out his mandolin and began to play while Sophia got everyone up and led us in a traditional dance. Soon everyone was laughing, dancing and enjoying the music together. Five hours later, I honestly didn’t want it to end. Paraskevas and Sophia have created something incredibly special—food, family, friendship and genuine Cretan hospitality all wrapped into one unforgettable experience. We arrived as guests and left feeling like friends. One of the absolute highlights of our trip to Crete. Don’t miss it!
