Top Rotorua Day Trips

The tour was very well planned, and Stephen provided everything we needed to move through the dark forest comfortably and safely. He explained everything clearly, and pointed out beautiful natural phenomena all along the way. And because it had just rained, we got to see the glow worms extra bright!!! It was truly magical and stunning. I felt like I was in another world, maybe Pandora from Avatar. Stephen allowed pauses for us to take photos, and even gave us tips to capture the glow worms better. Even though I went alone, I felt safe and comfortable in the group. Everyone was kind and friendly, and Stephen is a great guide, and a natural comedian too haha. He even picked us up and dropped us off, which was so appreciated. And his wife made hot chocolate for us to enjoy at the end of the tour under the stars. I felt very well taken care of, and grateful to experience such stunning natural beauty that I've never seen before. I even made a new friend who I'm still in touch with. Stephen, thank you so much for one of the best nights of my life. It was like a dream.

This was a really fun and interesting activity! It is a very easy paddle across round the lake. They bring you in a bus to their base where you have the option to put on water resistant gear (recommend) then get back on the bus to the lake. We gather around and they give us some kayaking and head lamp instructions. All of this is done in a kind and patient manner. Then you get in the kayaks and paddle to the first cave. There are 3 caves and a short tunnel. In one of the caves our guide Sam, told us all about the glow worms. It was very informative and interesting. It was really a lovely peaceful experience! I loved kayaking at night, I had never done that before!

This was a fantastic experience! It was fascinating to see the many different varieties of sheep and a sheep shearing demonstration! All of it was done with humor, which made it fun. Seeing what the dogs were able to do was amazing as well! The icing on top of the cake was taking the trolley pulled by the tractor around the farm and being able to feed the sheep and alpaca! It was also great to see how kiwi fruit grow as I had no idea! I would recommend this to anyone who has a chance to visit Rotorua in New Zealand!

My main goal during our stay in the north island was to see Hobbiton, though I had no desire to stay in a big city! So I was happy that this was available from Rotorua as a day trip, and the pick up spot was convenient as well! Our driver Hana was very informative during the drive over, and communicated clearly on our meet up spots and how much time we had at each destination. I would recommend to anyone staying in Rotorua.

The experience covered six zip lines with the highlight being a 220m long line jumping backwards off a 35m high platform and you can’t see the platform ahead ..whilst a little anxious, I’m so happy I went on this activity, the more we did, the more fun it was .. we took our adult son who was hanging upside down doing tricks ..

A very well-organized small group tour covering Wai-O-Tapu, Lady Knox Geyser, and Waimangu Valley. Each stop was unique, with incredible geothermal landscapes and plenty of time to explore without feeling rushed. The Lady Knox eruption was a highlight, and Waimangu’s scenery felt truly otherworldly. Transport was smooth, timing was perfect, and the small group size made the experience relaxed and enjoyable. Highly recommended if you want an efficient and memorable overview of Rotorua’s geothermal sites.

This is one of our Favourite must do Activities when we are in Rotorua, you have got to have this on your "To Do List" Great Price, great way to travel around Rotorua, see the Lakes, great "History Commentries/Stories" about the area by our Driver Tim...he was pretty knowledgeable and informed plus pretty funny and we had great weather to boot This is our 2nd time doing this Activity, we went back with more Family members.....just Loved this Tour

We had such a wonderful experience! The staff picked us up from our hostel and took us back. We came, we rafted, we conquered! The staff makes you feel like part of the group and I appreciate the hospitality! Big shout out to our guides for making the experience great, Deborah, reiya, yonexsi, and manaaki were awesome! Highly recommend this excursion.
