It was burned in a politically motivated arson attack in 1995 and is under renovation, nevertheless it is a fascinating story, in an amazing position, with incredible views around the city and rice fields as far as the eye can see.

You can also take a short excursion around the island. Later, a traditional Malagasy lunch in the fishing village, then heading back to Nosy Be. This trip is the only way for visitors arriving by cruise ship to get to the island of Iranja and admire this stunning part of the world. No matter what time you get off the boat and what time you have to return. We will be waiting for you directly at the port with our own motorboat and we will take head immediately to Iranya. It's home to giant tortoises over 200 years old, the largest chameleons, crocodiles and many other interesting species to see and even touch. We visit their ylang-ylang distillery to admire it in amidst a cloud of intoxicating fragrance. After, either lunch in the best Malagasy restaurant or go on to visit the famous Sacred Tree.
